Marquis, appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

I knew I wanted to professionally get into the music game after playing around with it for some time. I saw that my time is more valuable coverting the art into a monetary way of living. Learning the business side of music helped keep me grounded. Most artists see the fame but not really the work. There is a lot to be done but your have to be motivated to do it constantly and consistently.

Quis Chandla is just different. Sounds cliche but it perfectly fits how unique the skill set of this artist is. How many rappers you know have earned a Phd, pulled themselves out of the streets as a young adult and balances entrepreneurship, high quality lyricism and teaching about existing social injustices all in the same presentation fashion? I dont there are any others. Actually I know there aren’t

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect is being able to inspire others. Many have told me that I helped them feel confident in their work because of the steps they saw me take as well as the sacrificies.

The books the four agreements and the Getting out of your own way are reads that helped me create balance in entrepreneurship and my personal/artistic life.
