We recently connected with Marquetta Reid and have shared our conversation below.
Marquetta, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Looking back, what’s an important lesson you learned at a prior job
As a Marine for 19 years you learn to build with what and who you have around you. Leaders should strive to reproduce and see the fruit of leadership in others they work with on a day to day basis. I had to learn my position in peoples lives to know how to help build them. I then gad to establish relationship and gain permission to groom and share my experiences and knowledge. If you don’t have relationship with people they won’t be inclined to receive what you release even if it’s accurate. Once relationship is established then we can talk, train, teach, transfer and see tangible product and results. Once a person can do as you have taught now you need them to teach others because my motto is “ each one reach one to teach one”.

Marquetta, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Marquetta Reid and I served my country proudly for 19 years as a Marine. As I traveled the world and experienced life I made bonds with so many people. I knew upon exiting I wanted to write a book, travel, and start a business. The book and the business had to be about empowering people in their mind, and bringing understanding and healing to emotions. I have been able to publish two pieces of literature entitled “ awaken to better choices” in which there are two volumes. That book opened the door for my business M.A.R.C.H LLC which allowed me to begin community work in my area. I believe in being love and giving love in order to make a difference. People can do better when they learn how and receive the tools to do as such. I’m happy to be making impact in the DMV.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for building clients is being personable. People want help but they need to feel strength in asking for help. We have a society that’s high on self worth and pride and we want to keep clients feeling well of themselves. As a person’s mind is renewed they have new understanding of themselves and I joy in being in that transformation.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn thinking everyone would be a clone of myself. People need to be their own self in order to be successful. We can’t be another person and expect awesome results. We are designed to shine by being authentic and that’s not produced in mimicking others. Self worth and value will have you comfortable being yourself even in being groomed by someone else. We are all awesome and need help bringing our inner superstar outward.
