We recently connected with Marques Ogden and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Marques thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The mission of our brand is to help people succeed in life where we failed. In 2013, I lost everything I owned because I got very ego driven, self centered and focused on nothing but money, fame, success and all other things that truly don’t matter in life. I call them external motivating factors. So, the real purpose behind our mission is to help others hear my story, so they don’t end up like me. Bankrupt, broke, and almost homeless, due to one of the worse enemies that any of us have to deal with if we are not careful, our own ego!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

At 27, he founded a construction company with fast growth but eventually went bankrupt, losing almost two million dollars on one project in 90 days. He pulled himself together during his darkest hours and got a part-time job as a custodian.
Marques rose to the top again with hard work and determination, using his struggles as inspiration to blaze his own trail forward. Now, he shares his powerful story to help others learn how to fail forward and achieve success in their lives. After hitting rock bottom after my “spoiled milk moment” I rose to the top again with hard work and determination, using my struggles as inspiration to blaze my own trail forward. Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was working as a custodian and I ended up hitting my rock bottom moment, when someone’s trash filled with spoiled milk, rotten meat, and nasty stinky garbage got all over my skin, my body and my clothes. At that moment I had a decision to make after I sat down on the curb and cried for 10 minutes straight. Either take accountability and responsibility for the failures I had in my life and own them, fix them, and move on…. Or continue to sit on the curb, play victim mode, and blame others for my mistakes and my faults. Once I took full accountability for my life, that is when things started to get better in every aspect of my life!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I ended up having to pivot in my business when COVID-19 hit. No one was doing live events anymore, and we did not know if we be doing live events anytime in the future. So we pivoted our business to doing speaking jobs virtually through zoom! That was a huge pivoting moment for us, as we had never done any speeches on zoom, or virtually until the summer of 2020… So, in business you have to be innovative and be ready to pivot when times call for it…. Doing this puts you in the best position to achieve massive success….
