Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marqita Delgado. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Marqita, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.

I knew I wanted to be an actor since I was a child. I would create my own shows and setup a stage and make all my cousins the cast and perform it for our family. I had a first grade teacher who have me my first role in a class production of “The Princess and The Pea”. I did musical theatre all throughout junior high and high school and ultimately whenI was in college focused on studying acting for film and television.

Marqita, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I got into acting because I’m passionate about storytelling. I love embodying a story, creating worlds, and using my imagination. I also love the business, I think as artist we really need to love both because I think it requires the two to be successful. I also want to inspire others to pursue their dreams no matter what obstacles try to get in their way. This is what I know I was born to do and I look forward to what’s ahead for me.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I think the entertainment industry is all about resilience, you may often times hear no but all it takes is one yes and it could be a game changer for your career. Consistency, persistence, work ethic and passion are what I think really are the difference maker. I really love what I do and because I can’t imagine my life not doing what I love, giving up isn’t even an option for me. I’m determined to accomplish what I get out to do and I won’t stop until I see it happen.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The most rewarding thing about being an artist is that I get to inspire others. Storytelling has the ability to motivate, bring healing, and so many others beautiful things. My dream is to show others that what might seem impossible us possible no matter what your dream might be.
