Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marlie Wuntch. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Marlie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Covid has brought about so many changes – has your business model changed?
It was January 2020 and our year was BOOKED at Let’s Pardi! Three months later a pandemic rocked our world and we had to put the Pardi on hold. Events were postponed or completely cancelled and we were quarantined for the foreseeable future. It was a big blow to the event planning industry and times were definitely hard.
While we did take a few events to Zoom and the virtual reality world, we quickly realized we had to adapt to these new times and offer new services. Thankfully with my background in law and crisis management combined with my experience in public relations, we were able to pivot and help our clients in a different way!
Those cancelled events turned into opportunities to pitch our clients to the media and share their stories of how they are staying relevant and maintaining success. It was so important to stay visible during those work from home days to keep any brand or company going. We had a lot of success, particularly with our real estate clients on keeping them newsworthy and developing more business as a result.
The Pardi is back in Houston and we are thrilled to be managing events again, but the pandemic has also grown Let’s Pardi in a new and rewarding direction. We now offer Public Relations services in addition to event management, whether it be personal or business related.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
A native Houstonian and law school graduate, Marlie Merwin Wuntch is the owner and your go-to for all your personal and business needs at Let’s Pardi.
Event Marketing + Public Relations has been a longtime passion for Marlie. From a young age, she started planning and hosting many charity and holiday events of her own. She famously planned her own Bat Mitzvah party – including crafting all of the design elements with her mom!
She earned her stripes while working for a New York public relations firm, where she helped manage large scale events like the Time 100 Gala and the Tribeca Film Festival. She dedicates her free time to helping out her community, planning an annual #PardiForAPurpose fundraiser for local charities and helping with logistics during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
With an extensive background in PR event management, legal analysis, design, and marketing, Marlie will have your needs running smoother than a Santana song!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
The most important thing about managing social media is to be authentic to your brand. Show who you are and what makes you unique! We also take three descriptions of a client to capture the vibe they want to portray.
Let’s Pardi is vibrant, fearless, and dedicated. We try to show that in each post!
Once we have captured the essence of a client, consistency is key. We maintain a schedule of pre approved posts and constantly engage with our followers.
If you do that, you will grow your target audience organically over time.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
While referrals and advertising does help us source new clientele, do not underestimate the power of the hustle!
Cold calling sounds terrifying, but we have found it to be such an authentic way for us to connect and find new opportunities. We send out monthly business development emails, talking about trends in the market or exciting projects we are on. It really helps start a conversation that can lead to business!
We also love to do a coffee or lunch! Winning over journalists with a pitch can be hard. Putting in that extra effort to engage outside of your project and make personal connections is key.
