We were lucky to catch up with Marland Johnson Jr recently and have shared our conversation below.
Marland, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you ever seen (or implemented) a really awesome way to show a client you appreciate them
I often show my appreciation to clients by retouching an additional photo (excluded from their service package). Or even offering a free photoshoot depending on the what is happening in their current lives; soon to be parents, newly engaged etc.
Marland, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Before turning the camera around, I was a freelance model for about 2.5 years. Portrait photography was always a favorite due to the open creativity. Like any other business, problems were common but I would always find a way. Compensation would be considered to show my clients my appreciation for their support. Receiving positive feedback on services whether it’s word of mouth or via messages and seeing the smiles of satisfied customers makes me very happy. I want everyone to know that Red Wyne is a brand that brings out everyone’s beauty through art. We don’t create it, just simply putting it on a canvas.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients have been through social media. My main platform and where most of my customers come from is via Instagram.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Social media marketing gives you the best access to a wide variety of individuals. All service/business owners should be utilizing it as much as possible.
