We recently connected with Marko Medic and have shared our conversation below.
Marko, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on is the Journal Man Box for Movember. It aimed to challenge outdated ideas of masculinity, like the phrase “boys don’t cry,” which often prevent men from seeking help for physical or mental health. By encouraging vulnerability and sparking conversations, the project supported men’s health while redefining what it means to be a man. It was an honor to use design to create meaningful change and contribute to such an important cause.
Marko, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Marko—an island-born dreamer who took a wild detour from civil engineering to lifestyle blogging and eventually found my passion as an Art Director. My journey started with a camera, a blog, and a curious spirit that led me to create content for brands like COS, Adidas, and Nivea. Along the way, I realized creativity isn’t just about making things look good—it’s about solving problems in ways no one’s thought of before. What sets me apart? A global perspective (45+ countries and counting) and the guts to leave everything behind to chase my NYC creative dreams.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is driven by a deep desire to make my work meaningful and impactful. I strive to create content that truly resonates with people, combining creativity with purpose to tell stories that matter. My dedication to learning and improving fuels this mission, and I approach each project with curiosity and heart. For me, creativity is not just about visuals—it’s about creating something that moves people.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building my audience on social media required consistency, hard work, and a clear focus on what I wanted to share. Finding a topic that I was passionate about and motivated to create around was crucial—it gave me the energy to keep going even when results weren’t immediate. I’ve always believed in being genuine, as authenticity resonates more deeply than anything else. Engaging with my audience by including them in conversations helped build trust and a sense of community. For anyone starting out, my advice is to focus on quality over quantity and remember that meaningful connections will always outlast trends.
