We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Markeon Edwards a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Markeon, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
In order to be successful, you have to have a magnitude of discipline in multiple areas. Being able to have self control over your future is the key to living a successful and balanced life, but success is measured in the eye of the beholder.

Markeon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Markeon came into the industry with the following basic protocol of going to college, get a degree, then get a job in your desired field. Although it was the norm for his graduating era, those steps were not ordered for him. He found that his purpose wasn’t to be detained inside of a four year university, but to thrive helping others in areas people often ignore. He was given the discernment to see light in dark places. With that ability, it gives him the motivation to solve the problem of individuals who are silenced because no one understands their feelings, but the words Markeon speaks, heals from inside out.
Markeon is most proud of the lives he’s able to save with his words.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn was being a victim of struggling. As I grew wise in age, I begin to recognize that your struggle is a preparation for the life you desire to have. The struggle is put in place to mature you, give you wisdom, and build your character for what’s required of you.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Often in my life I have to pivot because I am being led to over-stand the under-standed. What I mean by that is, in order for me to live my purpose I have to follow the steps of whats causing disfunction in our mental lives.
