Recap on the Racca Memorial Cancer benefit that I performed at earlier this year.
Tonight I had the pleasure of performing at the annual Racca Memorial Disc Golf Tournament @ Blue Ribbon Pines Disc Golf Club. The Racca Memorial team every year busts their asses to raise funds to support families with children who are fighting cancer. I have supported this event for years but tonight was my first time ever attending or performing..
All can say is be grateful, be thankful in this life and do your best to help out…everyone, where you can and when you can. The Racca Memorial brings hope and light into the world and I was simply blown away by the kindness, selflessness and generosity shared and shown by all involved.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello, my name is Mark Joseph. I’m a full time musician, song writing and touring artist. I’ve been full-time in music since 2003. It was always a dream of mine since I was very young. I found myself working jobs that were uninspiring and I had a a young daughter that I knew one day I would have to look and eye and tell her to follow her heart and dreams, and I did not want to live my life as a hypocrite. So I took the leap and never looked back. I ran a music production company for many years as well, where we managed artists, did booking, and promotions of all kinds. We supported artist growth and advised on many levels of the process. I’ve also written and recorded 6 full length studio LPs, EPs, 2 Documentaries and countless co writes and guest appearances on other albums.
I was instrumental in revitalizing The Big Wu, a legendary MN band who is now celebrating 30 years. I handled their business for a number years, helped them get out of crippling debt and then was asked to join the band in 2010. Proud to say they are still performing and I’m still in the group.
Currently I have a concept album that is being prepped for a Spring 2023 release.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
One very powerful way to grow your network and gain support, is to activity collaborate with other artists and help build them up. They will do the same for you. Co-writes, sharing, posting, commenting are all ways of doing this.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Most rewarding is seeing how the positive music experiences improve the quality of life for others. It can be life changing and its a great pleasure to participate in this. Bringing inspiration, joy, and conveying emotion through music is what my life is all about.
