We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mark Condello, Brandon Ploskina, Michael Hodge, Jeff Worrall, Jake Colavincenzo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mark Condello, Brandon Ploskina, Michael Hodge, Jeff Worrall, Jake Colavincenzo below.
Alright, Mark Condello, Brandon Ploskina, Michael Hodge, Jeff Worrall, Jake Colavincenzo thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
Our current project, Ferocious Ghosts, is absolutely the most meaningful project we’ve worked on. We have all played in numerous musical projects, some together, some separately. In the past, there was always an ulterior goal aside from the project itself. Those times came to a natural end and we all were pretty burned out.
Everything started with a couple old friends reconnecting and messing around with some songs. Next thing we know, we’re having a lot of fun and calling other friend, and then more until we got to where we are.
Coming back together now, the project is for us and us alone. We relish our time together to write, rehearse, and record. The act of creating music and the camaraderie of being together is filling a void for us that we’d forgotten was there.
Mark Condello, Brandon Ploskina, Michael Hodge, Jeff Worrall, Jake Colavincenzo, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
We’re probably most proud of being able to write music that is meaningful to us, yet also connects with a wider audience.
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Not so much we wish we knew, as much as we wish we had the resources that are available today. Passing out flyers to strangers and stapling posters to telephone poles is no where near as effective as social media. Selling a CD is both tougher and slower than posting on streaming sites. It’s hard not to look back and say “if we had this back then…imagine what we could have accomplished”.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Our goal is to fulfill ourselves. We approach song writing with an open mind and eagerly seek feedback and ideas from each other. One idea leads to another, from a different person. . .and so on. We’re really enjoying the music we’re making and are thrilled to share it with the world. Most importantly, if no one likes it but us, that wouldn’t change a thing about what we’re doing and where we’re going.
