We were lucky to catch up with Marjorie Glenn recently and have shared our conversation below.
Marjorie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Over the course of your career, have you seen or experienced your field completely flip-flop or change course on something?
When I first got into the health and wellness space as a practitioner I had various well known business coaches who had me craft my services and packages at higher price points to service a particular demographic of clients. I did so for a long time and only worked with that population of clients for several years but one day I woke up and was guided to re do all of my services and packages. Although I enjoyed working with that population and helping those people I felt like I wasn’t in alignment with my souls true purpose and mission to help as many people heal and find optimal health. There was a challenge met for some people who couldn’t afford my services, so I made my services flexible and affordable for everyone. My mission is to continue to help and support my community through my services and packages.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Marjorie Glenn, a Board Certified Holistic Nutritionist and Functional Medicine Practitioner. I work with people to help them get to the root cause of their health issues and to help them regain optimal health. I do so through a variety of holistic medicine practices and by using functional lab testing to get to the root cause of the issue, along with nutrition and lifestyle habits.
After working in law enforcement for years and having various other stressful job positions, my body succumbed to high stress levels and my body could no longer function properly.
I spent years of eating a poor diet and my gut health eventually deteriorated. I developed nutrient deficiencies and multiple allergies and intolerances to various foods.
It was then, that I decided to take my life back again!
I worked with a Naturopath to finally discover the root cause of my symptoms and after following a personalized healing protocol I was able to heal my body.
Through this healing I found my passion for helping other people heal themselves. I was so passionate about health that I returned to college and switched my career path to focus on holistic healthcare.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There have been several points in my career as a Health Practitioner where I have had to take time off to take care of my wellbeing. Some breaks longer than others, but I always returned back to doing what makes me happy… which is helping others heal. I learned to stop and rest when I needed to and to continue when I’m ready instead of quitting. This is a vital lesson learned because as healers we often forget to stop and care for ourselves.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Having empathy and understanding and being able to authentically connect with other humans. There have been countless numbers of people who I have worked with who have expressed to me that their needs and experiences were met with dismissal by their previous practitioners. People should always be shown empathy and understanding but especially when they are in a vulnerable position and seeking help from a healthcare practitioner.
