We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marisshia “Mish” Sigala. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marisshia “Mish” below.
Hi Marisshia “Mish”, thanks for joining us today. Alright, let’s jump into one of the most exciting parts of starting a new firm – how did you get your first client who was not a friend or family?
My first real estate client came from an unexpected and quite personal setting. I was attending a birthday party for my client’s niece, where I hadn’t seen many of the attendees since high school—over a decade earlier. During the event, I was chatting with an old friend and mentioned that I had recently started my career in real estate.
My friend, who had always been incredibly supportive, overheard our conversation and was genuinely interested in my new venture. He trusted me enough to refer me to his own needs—he was looking for a new home for himself and his daughter. This opportunity was not just a milestone for my career but also a testament to the power of personal connections and word-of-mouth.
This experience underscored for me how important it is to be open and enthusiastic about your work, even in informal settings. It also taught me the value of leveraging personal networks and relationships, which often play a significant role in building a successful career.
I am forever thankful for the trust he placed in me and the chance to make a difference for him and his family.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a 32-year-old New Mexican from Albuquerque, and I’m thrilled to share a bit about myself and my journey. Born and raised in this vibrant city, I’m passionate about our local culture—especially when it comes to the food. (if you know, you know).
I’m a proud mom and wife, and my family means the world to me. My son is not just my little one; he’s also my business partner in the making. He often joins me for home showings and has a knack for handling the lockbox, adding a delightful touch to my workday.
Growing up, I was deeply inspired by my mom, who raised me with immense strength and support as a single parent. Her resilience is a constant source of motivation for me. My grandpa, a business owner since the 70s, also played a significant role in shaping my entrepreneurial spirit. His success in business has been a guiding light as I navigated my own career path.
Before I ventured into real estate, I had always considered it but was hesitant due to fear of the unknown. However, after my son was born, I found myself unable to return to my 9-to-5 job. The thought of leaving him so young was too difficult. This pivotal moment made me realize that I wanted to build a career where I could balance family life and professional growth. Inspired by my husband’s courage to leave his corporate job and successfully run his personal training business, I decided to follow my own dreams. His support allowed me to transition from my 9-to-5 to focus on becoming a real estate broker, and for that, I am incredibly grateful.
In my real estate career, I specialize in helping clients buy, sell, and invest in residential properties. What I love most about my work is being a part of my clients’ significant life moments—whether they’re getting married, expecting a baby, investing in real estate, or relocating. Seeing their smiles and knowing I’ve made a difference in their lives is incredibly rewarding.
What sets me apart is my commitment to genuine connections and community. I actively create content on social media, shining a light on fellow entrepreneurs and local businesses on my real estate page. On my personal page, I share family moments and embrace the ups and downs of life, showing that I’m just as human and imperfect as anyone else.
My ultimate goal is to show my son that hard work and belief in oneself can achieve incredible things. I’m proud of the path I’ve carved and excited about the future. I’m here to offer not just a service but a partnership in your real estate journey, driven by a deep passion for what I do and a genuine care for those I serve.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences that really highlights my resilience happened recently in my real estate career. As a mom, wife, and full-time real estate professional, balancing these roles can be incredibly demanding.
My days are often packed with client meetings, property showings, and managing transactions. On top of that, raising my son is both my most challenging and most fulfilling responsibility. There are days when it feels like I’m juggling too many roles, and the pressure can be overwhelming.
Just recently, I had one of those particularly tough days. After a long day of showings, client calls, and negotiating contracts, I came home exhausted, feeling the weight of all my responsibilities. I questioned whether I was doing enough for my family and if I could keep up with the demands of my career.
Instead of letting the stress get to me, I took a moment to breathe deeply and remind myself of why I started this journey. I reflected on my past challenges, from growing up with a single mother to diving into the real estate world with a clear sense of purpose. Each obstacle I’ve faced has been a step towards personal and professional growth.
I reassessed my schedule, found ways to delegate tasks, and ensured that I was giving my son the attention he needed. Balancing everything perfectly is still a work in progress, but I continue to push through with renewed determination. I often surprise myself with my ability to manage these challenges.
I am reminded that while the challenges might be hard, they are temporary. Challanges teach me me that resilience isn’t about avoiding obstacles but about navigating them with perseverance and adapting as needed. Each day, even when overwhelming, is an opportunity to grow and learn.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I focus on creating personal connections and staying engaged. I share glimpses of my life on social media, including family moments and the balancing act of being a mom and professional, which helps build familiarity and trust. My social media presence includes highlighting local businesses and market insights on my real estate page while sharing personal stories on my personal page. I also make it a point to celebrate my clients’ significant life events, such as buying a home or expanding their family, through personalized messages or small tokens of appreciation. Regular communication is key, so I stay in touch with calls and small gestures, ensuring clients feel valued and informed beyond just transactions. By sharing my own challenges and growth, I connect on a personal level, showing clients that I understand and empathize with their experiences.
