We were lucky to catch up with Marissa Willis recently and have shared our conversation below.

Marissa, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

I think it takes the ability to believe you can as well as a lot of mindset work. I feel like many people have some kind of mental block, especially when starting out, that holds us back. These blocks can be related to money, self worth, things we were taught growing up, and a plethora of other things. I think true success comes when you practice mindset work that will then allow you to step into who and what you want to be – especially in relation to business ventures. I also don’t think being successful is or should the end of the road, instead, I believe it’s a constant progression as we grow.

Marissa, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am a wife of over 6 years and a mom of two littles girls (ages 1 & 3). I have primarily been a stay at home mom ever since our first daughter was born. I grew up in Colorado and am a recent transplant to TN. Upon moving to Tennessee my family and I had no connections or people that we knew before moving. After arriving into the area I quickly set out to make connections and I stumbled into creating a women’s group in the area called The Women’s Collaborative. Fast forward to the end of our first year after moving here with my connections in the community growing, the business I now have was just a simple suggestion to me by some of my goods friends. I had created some balloon displays and backdrops before so I decided to run with it. In the coming months, One Stop Pop Designs was born. We focus on creating spectacular custom balloon designs and backdrops to help you celebrate all of the special moments in your life. Balloon designs are our current specialty but we definitely aim to please and love working to bring our customers visons to life. We take the stress out of trying to create the magic all on your own and leave you with unique designs that are sure to draw attention. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service and really talking through creating exactly what you had imagined for your special event. For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

I think there are two things that are really rewarding for me. The first being able to see what I am capable of creating and how my style and creativity evolves as I continue to learn and practice. The second is the joy I bring to my customers when they see the completed design and love it!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

As I have gained connections with other women and moms within the community there has been a tremendous amount of support from so many local ladies. It is really cool to see others recommending my work whenever someone is in need of balloon designs. I honestly think a lot of my new clients come from those recommendations which allows me to continue to build rapport within the community.
