We recently connected with Marissa & Jon Wright and have shared our conversation below.
Marissa & Jon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Our mission is to deliver top quality customer service and support American made products and vendors at an economical operating price. Meaning we handle all the hassles of doing the research on products, ordering, and making sure we keep costs down for the average consumer, as well as taking care of any shipping interruptions that may arise and quality control concerns. While there are some items we are contracted at for pricing, we do price match and help our customers save where they can. Afterall, we are a Veteran family ourselves, we understand the daily struggles of the world we live in.
Marissa & Jon, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I first got into this industry when I was expanding my photography company and in search of props and good quality lingerie for my clients. I then learned what wholesale was and what I could bring to the community with my store. With my husband and I both being veterans, I wanted to specialize in US products and vendors.
Marissa-I first got into this industry when I was expanding my photography company and in search of props and good quality lingerie for my clients. I then learned what wholesale was and what I could bring to the community with my store.
Jon-I ran my own landscaping company after honorably serving in the Army. I understand the value of a hard earned dollar. When I met Marissa, she had a vision of delivering American made products to the hard working class and we took the time during the Pandemic to formulate a business plan. Between her knowledge of the actual products and marketing and my area of business structure, we came up with Ethereal Legacy Boutiques.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
During my short time in the Marine Corps, I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. I have been battling LD since 2012 and building my businesses as well. I still have my down days, but being able to rest and recoop when needed helps as well as taking the time I need to to focus on my health and have the help I need from my partner. While Jon does have his own health issues from his time in service, we find balance between raising a family and running a business.
Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
Since the store is online, there is no physical inventory to keep track of. I do so through the distributors, but not as if I would in a physical location. Due to high demands of credit, I have had to pay for everything out of pocket as far as subscriptions with things such as Canva, online hosts, and other service providers. With the riots of 2020 this helps keep customer’s orders secure and less idle time.
