As an entrepreneur, I’ve found that one of the most valuable insights in my career is recognizing the importance of having diverse skills. It’s good to remember that every job teaches us valuable lessons, even when it’s not immediately clear. Throughout my time in various corporate roles, I’ve picked up knowledge in marketing, finance, and strategy, which has really helped me confidently handle different aspects of my business.
This wide range of skills hasn’t only led to better decision-making, but it’s also saved me a lot of time and resources. When challenges pop up, I can think creatively and come up with innovative solutions. Having experience in different fields has given me a unique perspective, allowing me to look at problems from various angles and come up with fresh ideas.
Sometimes, it might feel like you’re not learning anything new at work, but it’s important to keep in mind that every experience helps us grow, whether it’s a soft skill or a technical one. These skills can be really helpful when you need to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to challenges you face as an entrepreneur.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One significant lesson I had to unlearn during my transition from the corporate world to entrepreneurship was the belief that my corporate experience would provide all the answers I needed to succeed as an entrepreneur. While there are certainly similarities between being an employee and being an entrepreneur, I quickly realized that they require different skill sets.
In the corporate environment, I was used to working within a structured system, having a clear hierarchy, and collaborating with diverse teams to achieve specific goals. However, as an entrepreneur, I found myself wearing many hats, making decisions with limited resources, and being more accountable for the outcome of those decisions. I stepped into the world of entrepreneurship, full of confidence in my corporate knowledge. But soon, I faced the realities of running my own business, where I had to adapt to a more agile and flexible approach. This required me to unlearn some of the rigidity and constraints from my corporate background and embrace a more innovative and resilient mindset.
Unlearning this lesson taught me the importance of adaptability and the willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment. It has helped me become more resourceful, creative, and better equipped to handle the challenges that come with running a successful business.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The most effective way I’ve found to attract new clients is through networking and cultivating genuine relationships with others. I’ve discovered that sharing my story and experiences openly resonates with people and helps build trust. By engaging in sincere conversations and demonstrating my skills and the positive impact I can bring to small businesses, I’ve managed to draw in clients who appreciate the personal touch and dedication I bring to my work.
These authentic connections have not only assisted me in acquiring new clients but also in establishing a solid network of referrals. Satisfied clients are more inclined to recommend my services to others. By concentrating on creating meaningful relationships and showcasing the value I can offer to small businesses, I’ve been able to expand my client base organically and sustainably.
