Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marisa Burgett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Marisa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you in your professional career?
I learned that I cannot spread myself too thin. I cannot give my all to something if I am trying to be everything to everyone all at once.
I was trying to work full time on my design business, trying to scale my design education business and be a full-time stay-at-home mom to my twin newborns all at once.
I knew I was creatively burnt out when I couldn’t even stitch a full sentence together for a trendy caption, something motnhs previous, I would have been able to do in my sleep!
Bottom Line – The universe is going to keep giving you the same lessons until you learn the lesson.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I was a photography makeup artist who went rouge to embrace my love of beauty and marketing all together in one world.
There wasn’t a job description that fit all of my passions so I decided to create my own.
I am passionate about all things creative and serving others. I love to sing scream in the car, wear hats, drink tea and martinis.
When I am not being creative with design or painting, I love to be with my twin babies!
I am all about helping embody your brand in front of a camera and managing the online presence of your brand.
I have transformed countless brands helping them find confidence in their brands and websites, booking more dream client, increasing bottom-line results and soaking up seamless success.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The thing that keeps me going is “Feel the fear and do it anyway.” Go all in on whatever you are going to do. Because anytihng with doing is worth doing is scared and giving it your all.
If you’re going all in on yourself, that’s the best thing you can do. Other things will just fall into place!
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
My mom, my step mom, my step sister and my best friend all owned their own salon. Hair is in my blood! I knew I wanted to help the beauty industry without being “behind the chair” so that’s why I started creating websites, brands and doing catchy social media posts to the strong women in my life! I knew I could bring my love of the beauty world and marketing together to create a unique career for myself.
