We recently connected with Marion Weist and have shared our conversation below.
Marion, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
How many times over the last 2 to 3 years have you seen the phrase ‘triggers’ pop up? It’s almost as if this is a new trending word or feeling. In response to that, the training team with the Master Hypnotist society, led by Dr. Dan Burow and Scott Mcfall, have really dug in to the realm of triggers since it seems to be a response that we are all faced with at some point in time. Triggers or responses affect us, emotionally, physically, mentally, and sometimes even spiritually.
Working with a client recently with relationship issues. With using hypnosis techniques of forgiveness. It really came to the surface that the trigger response of anger and frustration or disappointment in the other person in the relationship that they had been in for a couple years, was really an anger and disappointment and frustration in themselves for allowing certain behavior to go unchecked and to allowing their wants and needs in the relationship to be negated.
As Scott Mcfall says ‘when you’re triggered, it is your responsibility to solve it’.
By using techniques of forgiveness with Hypnosis and confidence building and goal setting with a mentor or master trained hypnotist, can help somebody move past anger, resentment hurt disappointment, and be free to find joy, happiness, and confidence in their own lives. They are now able to see their responsibility in the relationship. They know they are allowed to get their emotional and mental needs met and not feel like they are required to be the one who provides it to the other person only.
Marion, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been working with Scott Mcfall and the master Hypnotist society for Since 2006; beginning as a client for confidence and public speaking, then a training Hypnotist and now a trainer that gets to teach Hypnosis to other people. There’s not many people that could say they grew up, wanting to be a Hypnotist. Typically the type of person who becomes a Hypnotist to somebody who’s had a successful experience with Hypnosis. And is excited to be able to teach people to have the same experiences. I am that person. I went from a shy, anxious, scared person to the confident teacher I am today with using the mentorship process and hypnotic process that we teach. I look back at who I was when I started and it’s hard to recognize that we are the same person.
It amazes me even as a hypnotist for almost 20 years, how many ways hypnosis can help change patterns, from relationships to eating habits to stress responses. It really is a fun and rewarding career. It is an honor to be a part of building the Hypnosis profession, with a view of ethical hypnosis for personal change in today’s society.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
There’s a couple of things that have helped build the reputation within my market. The number one thing is 100% of the time focusing on my clients goals and outcomes and making sure they get their goals and outcomes. which then leads to video testimonials or written testimonials, that show others the success that is possible with Hypnosis.
The second thing would be being out in the community. Teaching Hypnosis classes; meeting members of the community at Chamber of Commerce meetings; providing lunch and learns for dentist, chiropractic offices and nurses to teach how to reduce stress in the office place. Just being accessible. Not many people have met a Hypnotist. So many people need to be aware that Hypnosis is a career and an option for helping people in their lives.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Anybody in business right now who is adapting to where the world is right now is resilient. So, give yourself credit for showing up every day. I know for me getting rid of the ego of when things go right or wrong and being vulnerable enough to lay it down with my team and my mentor is invaluable to survive in today’s world. I am open to taking feedback on what worked and didn’t work in all the areas of making my business successful.
Resiliency is not as special experience, we all experience resiliency in school and work, in our careers, in our relationships. But do you have the right resources to prevail?
