We recently connected with Mario Official and have shared our conversation below.

Mario, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?

I wish I would’ve started my creative music career as a music artist sooner. I always had a love for music and would take it serious as I was in 5th grade to middle school and as I was in middle school I stayed up most nights planning for this big music dream I had, preparing trackless for music that I had written even though I would never release it because I always thought that I needed a lot of money to accomplish this dream which lead me to do a lot of illegal things for money like sell drugs when I got in high school which actually pulled me away from the music until I had got arrested and it brought me back to my god’s gift of creating music and I wanted to start taking music as serious as I could like I did in my childhood. if I had just stayed focus compared to then to now I would be more improved in my lyrical ability within my songs and I would be more ahead in my growth as a music artist as with every song I grow, every lyric that I make a mistake on and have to think real hard of what would be the perfect words to make this the best song not only anyone else will ever hear coming from me, but what I think would be the best song coming from me. I would focus more on the craft and the growth within that craft more and not all about the money it takes.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am Mario Official, a music artist that is in the genres of Hip-Hop and R&B mainly from Atlanta, Georgia. Born in Edgewood apartments on the Eastside of Atlanta, Georgia until the apartments were teared down leaving me to be raised in the southeast of Atlanta, Georgia where I remained with my mother until I moved in with my father when I was around 13-14 years old. I was very much an in-house kid I loved to just be alone and to be in love with music as I was in 1st grade my friend at the time was someone who knew how to rap and I guess I picked it from him and went from there with the music but as time went on I became more and more intrigued with music especially when the show called ” Empire ” aired I felt so much connected and alike to the character Lucious Lyon and the amazing music I heard on the show, the show made me want to one day own my own music label and also have a family heavily involved in music. As more shows aired even such as Jermaine Dupri’s ” The Rap Game ” it all led to me growing as a artist and learning more and more about the music industry and the music craft and I just became obsessed and in love with music, not a night would go by during my middle school nights that I wouldn’t be doing anything concerning music. Also, my cousin Lil Dan is a rapper as well and he is actually my motivation and really what made me perfect my music he was so much more experienced than me with writing music and gave me so many tools to use as we grew up as kids we were never close but once he moved into the neighborhood I was living in at the time and we started selling water bottles together during that summer to make some money we became very close and learned that we both knew how to rap and ever since he has helped me improve every time I hear a song he made I want to either perfect another song or lyric I have of my own.

I believe what sets me apart from any other artist is my musical taste of music. my musical taste helps me in so many ways such as what instrumentals I use to write and release music to leaving me a variety in my catalog such as Gospel, Blues, R&B, Pop, Country, etc. I know that the music that I am releasing now is so much rap and trap music but very soon once I’m at an good state in my music career I will be Able to show everyone what I can actually do and become a great music legend like the ones before me. Also, with my musical taste im able to recognize talent from different genres and blend my own genre of the song im making or producing with that talent from another genre making different and powerful generational beautiful music that can connect people. there are so many other ways I can tell of how my musical taste sets me apart but in word just know its impact of what’s to come, what is, and all of what’s to love.

the most thing that I am proud of is that im finally taking the path of music serious, no more being anchored to my thoughts of failure or what I think I need just taking it all one step at a time, one song at a time, and getting better with time and improving as much as I can to release the best music I can.

the main things I want my potential fans to know is expect the unexpected know that the music I make is not a short string it’s a very long and versatile string that can go so many ways and will impact you in one way or another and will one day follow you from generation to generation spreading the greatness I’ve been gifted.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is being able to actually make something great, and it not only makes you feel full and great but it is loved by others and is appreciated. just being able to create a masterpiece and it can be looked at in the same perspective and or view is great in it self.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?

I think non-creatives will struggle to understand that even though you can always practice the knowledge that you use to practice will always effect the performance and from that the result. when I started my journey I was only a child and through that time I learned as much as I could but from then to now as im an adult I have learned so much, but still have much to learn and im now starting to put these tools into action to become the best at what I do. So, as practice does make perfect the knowledge that I have will also make a great practice.
