We were lucky to catch up with Mario McTier recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mario , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. If you’re open to it, can you talk to us about the best (or worst) investment you’ve made. What’s the backstory and the relevant context behind why you made the investment
The best investment I have made as a business owner is investing in myself. I feel it is the best thing you can do as a brand or owner because if you don’t bet on yourself, how can you convince or have others buy into what you are presenting. You must’ve exemplify boldness and confidence with anything you put your face on. It’s contagious, furthermore the consumer will take on the identity of the brand!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One lesson that I had to unlearn is that you cannot help people that aren’t not willing to help themselves. You can see the potential in someone but if they don’t see it in themselves it won’t matter at all.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I started my label in my college dorm room with a maxed out credit card and didn’t know how I was going to make the payment for my car insurance. I was the janitor and the owner of my company. I did every job that you could do to be in the music industry. Word traveled fast that I had a studio and then I hired a engineer to run my studio in my room while doing internships and class. Fast forward to post graduation I had 3 different artists that I managed and had an offer from Rod Wave to be his road manager. 2 years later I am on my second tour with Rod and is now iover marketing and the A&R department for his label imprint Hit House Entertainment.
