Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mario Howell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Mario thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump right into how you came up with the idea?
The spark for NSight MMC wasn’t just a lightbulb moment—it was a calling.
I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of business and creativity. From an early age, I saw how a strong brand and strategic marketing could turn a small idea into something powerful. But my journey to launching NSight MMC wasn’t just about strategy—it was deeply personal.
In 2017, I lost my older brother. His passing was a profound moment that reshaped how I saw my purpose. He was someone who believed in dreaming big, taking risks, and making a difference. That loss planted a seed in me—I knew I wanted to build something meaningful, something that helped others bring their visions to life.
For years, I worked in various roles—sales, customer service, digital media education—honing my skills and learning what made businesses thrive (or struggle). I also spent a lot of time helping startups and small businesses, often for little to nothing, simply because I loved the process. Over time, I noticed a pattern: Many small businesses and nonprofits had incredible missions, but they lacked the time, knowledge, or resources to build a strong brand or market themselves effectively. They were overwhelmed by the digital world, struggling to stand out, and unsure how to connect with their audiences.
That’s when the idea clicked. What if I created a marketing and branding agency that wasn’t just another cookie-cutter service but a true partner for small businesses and nonprofits? A company that didn’t just offer solutions but empowered clients with knowledge, creativity, and strategy tailored to their unique needs.
The logic behind NSight MMC was simple: I knew there was a massive gap in the market for affordable, high-quality, personalized digital marketing solutions. Large agencies overlooked small businesses, and DIY solutions often left them frustrated and exhausted. I had the skills, the experience, and most importantly, the heart to bridge that gap.
I also knew I could succeed because I wasn’t just offering a service—I was offering a vision. My strengths in creativity, analytics, and teamwork meant I could not only craft powerful brand stories but also help businesses make data-driven decisions. And, as someone who stays ahead of trends, I knew I could keep my clients relevant in a constantly evolving digital space.
Starting NSight MMC was both exhilarating and terrifying. But I kept thinking about the small business owners struggling to make their dream a reality, the nonprofits fighting to make an impact with limited resources. That’s what pushed me forward.
This business isn’t just a career for me—it’s a mission. It’s about storytelling, empowerment, and helping businesses reclaim their time while making their brands shine. And every time I see a client’s confidence grow as their business flourishes, I know I made the right choice.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
About Me & NSight MMC: A Vision for Small Businesses & Nonprofits
For those who haven’t come across me or my work before, let me introduce myself. I’m a creative strategist, educator, and problem-solver with a deep love for storytelling, branding, and digital marketing. My journey into this industry wasn’t a straight path—it was shaped by experience, passion, and a strong desire to help others succeed.
How I Got Into Digital Marketing & Branding
I’ve always had a natural curiosity about business and creativity, and I studied Business Marketing at Clark Atlanta University an HBCU in Atlanta, Ga. before earning my MBA with a concentration in Marketing and a certificate in Digital Marketing. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—working in sales, customer service, digital media education, and consulting startups. What I noticed, time and time again, was that small businesses and nonprofits often had powerful missions but struggled to build a strong digital presence.
They didn’t have the time, the knowledge, or the resources to market themselves effectively, and I saw firsthand how that held them back from reaching their full potential. That’s what drove me to officially launch NSight MMC—a creative services business dedicated to helping small businesses and nonprofits establish their brands, tell their stories, and thrive in an ever-changing digital world.
What NSight MMC Offers & The Problems We Solve
At NSight MMC, we specialize in:
✅ Brand Development – Helping businesses define their identity, messaging, and visual presence.
✅ Digital Marketing – From social media strategy to content creation, we ensure businesses connect with the right audience.
✅ Web Design & Development – Crafting functional, beautiful, and user-friendly websites.
✅ Content Creation – Including video editing, blog writing, and graphic design that brings brands to life.
✅ Training & Workshops – Teaching businesses how to leverage digital marketing tools, including AI-powered solutions like ChatGPT.
The biggest challenge my clients face is time and expertise. Most small business owners and nonprofit leaders are wearing multiple hats, juggling everything from operations to fundraising. They know they need a strong brand and marketing strategy, but they don’t have the bandwidth to do it themselves—or the budget to hire an in-house team. That’s where NSight MMC comes in.
We remove the overwhelm by handling these critical brand-building tasks so business owners can focus on what they do best. And, for those who want to learn, we also empower them with knowledge and tools to navigate the digital space effectively.
What Sets NSight MMC Apart?
There are a lot of marketing agencies out there, but here’s what makes NSight MMC different:
✨ We’re built for small businesses & nonprofits. Many agencies prioritize big-budget clients. We specialize in working with businesses and organizations that need high-quality solutions but might not have massive resources.
✨ We value storytelling over selling. People connect with brands that have heart. We help businesses craft narratives that resonate, not just ads that disappear into the noise.
✨ We stay ahead of the trends. Digital marketing moves fast—what worked last year may be outdated today. I make it a priority to stay updated on industry shifts so my clients always have a competitive edge.
✨ We believe in collaboration. NSight MMC isn’t just a service provider—it’s a partner. We work with our clients, not just for them, making sure their vision comes to life in an authentic way.
What I’m Most Proud Of
One of my proudest achievements is seeing my clients grow in confidence and success. Whether it’s a startup finally launching their brand, a nonprofit reaching more donors through effective marketing, or a small business owner reclaiming time for their family because they no longer have to do everything alone—that’s the impact I’m most proud of.
I’m also incredibly honored to have built NSight MMC in tribute to my older brother, who passed away in 2017. His belief in dreaming big and making a difference fuels everything I do. This business isn’t just about marketing—it’s about legacy, passion, and service.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
At the heart of my creative journey is a simple yet powerful mission: to help small businesses and nonprofits not just exist in the digital space, but truly thrive.
Too often, I see passionate entrepreneurs and purpose-driven organizations struggle to make their mark online. They have incredible missions, life-changing services, and powerful stories to tell—but without the right digital strategy, they get lost in the noise. That’s where I come in.
Through NSight MMC, my goal is to bridge the gap between great ideas and great execution. I want to equip small businesses and nonprofits with the tools, strategies, and creative content they need to reach the right audience, grow sustainably, and make a lasting impact.
I believe that branding and digital marketing shouldn’t be exclusive to big-budget corporations. Every business, no matter the size, deserves the opportunity to showcase their work in a way that’s clear, compelling, and competitive. Nonprofits, in particular, often struggle to connect with donors and advocates in the digital space, and I’m deeply passionate about helping them amplify their voices and expand their reach.
More than anything, I want my work to give business owners and nonprofit leaders something priceless—time and peace of mind. Marketing can feel overwhelming when you’re wearing multiple hats, but with the right support, it doesn’t have to be. My creative journey is driven by the belief that when small businesses and nonprofits succeed, communities thrive.
That’s why every strategy I build, every brand I develop, and every piece of content I create is rooted in one goal: to empower those who are making a difference. If I can help an entrepreneur grow their dream into a sustainable business or a nonprofit reach more people who need their services, then I know I’m fulfilling my purpose.
Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
If there’s one resource I wish I had tapped into sooner, it’s the power of mentorship.
When I first started my journey in digital marketing and branding, I relied heavily on trial and error—researching, experimenting, and figuring things out on my own. While that hands-on learning was valuable, I now realize how much faster and smoother the process could have been if I had connected with the right mentors earlier.
A good mentor isn’t just someone who gives advice—they offer guidance, experience, and perspective that can save you from unnecessary setbacks. They help you see the bigger picture, challenge your thinking, and provide insights that you wouldn’t have learned from just watching YouTube tutorials or reading industry blogs.
Looking back, I see how much time I could have saved if I had someone who had already navigated the challenges I was facing—someone to say, “Hey, avoid this pitfall,” or “Focus on this strategy instead.” The value of a mentor isn’t just in what they teach—it’s in the confidence and clarity they provide.
Now, mentorship is something I actively seek and value. I make it a point to follow industry leaders, engage in professional communities, and learn from those who have walked this path before me. And just as importantly, I aim to be a mentor to others, especially small business owners and nonprofit leaders who feel overwhelmed in the digital space.
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone starting their creative or business journey, it would be this: Find a mentor sooner rather than later. It doesn’t have to be a formal relationship—mentorship can come from books, podcasts, networking groups, or even a single conversation with someone ahead of you in the game. But having that guidance can make all the difference in your growth, confidence, and success.
