We recently connected with MARINE and have shared our conversation below.
MARINE, appreciate you joining us today. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?
Thanks a lot for having me join. So, I actually believe that one’s work isn’t yours anymore as soon as it is given. Let’s say you paint a house or you work in retail or you do research: is your work ever yours, and can you prevent it from being misunderstood or mischaracterized? It’s something I struggle with as anyone can do anything with what we produce, but it’s something I am learning to accept, as you can’t do much otherwise. And to be fair, I myself misunderstand my own work sometimes. Rather, I look back and see it differently, I think there’s a word for it: distortion of reality or something of the like.

MARINE, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Sure… I’ve produced the show Wanderlost (on Amazon Prime and Youtube, see photo below), but currently I focus mainly on acting. I’m probably a better actress than a filmmaker, at least for now now!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience is an interesting one… I used to take a lot of pride in my resilience, until I realized we all go through shit… Resilience, while a beautiful thing, is also a value I aim to let go off as we end up being more proud of our resilience than about our own well-being! It’s like saying “I’m resilient” gets you respect but saying “I’m happy” makes you look uninteresting…
Those last 5 years are not the ones I remember the most foundly but within this time frame, I managed to get my webseries Wanderlost out of the ground… It was hard but it’s a wonderful lesson that one should never give up: believe in yourself!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
