We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marina Yanay-Triner. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marina below.
Alright, Marina thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
I started with nutrition coaching – and while that was very fun in the beginning, it started to not feel aligned after a while. I then felt the nudge to switch to my current career – somatic coaching – because it was actually the path I was taking in my own personal development. The more I followed my gut and did my own nervous system and emotional healing work, the more aligned and in tune my business became, the more it grew! It was so incredible to experience (and I continue to experience this) – my business growing and blooming, as I have always dreamed it to be!
I stopped following particular strategies, and focused on listening to my heart, and that’s what worked the most.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a transformational coach who works with people who are disengaged with life, burnt out and checked out, to support them in experiencing more joy and aliveness in their lives. As a trauma-informed coach, I work with clients to go deep into the roots of behavioral patterns that hold them back from experiencing life to its fullest, looking at childhood-rooted beliefs, emotions, behavioral patterns, and the unconscious to create massive transformation. Together, we use body-based somatic approaches to support a connection back to the body, strengthen their connection with their instincts and intuition, and flourish!
How did you build your audience on social media?
I created posts that were inspired by my own journey! I noticed how much I enjoy writing (versus creating short form videos, for example) and I just followed that. I focused on one single platform rather than several, and was super consistent. At first, it didn’t work. Nothing was growing. But the more consistently I posted and shared my story plus tips that were literally coming from my own lived experience – the more my platform blew up!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
To do what I’m told ;) The back story is that I am a recovering good girl – so used to following instructions and the opinions and advice of others. I constantly notice now that the more I listen to my own inner voice in the way I market, share my journey, and sell my services – the more successful I become. It isn’t easy – there’s lots of pressure to do it another way – but this is my biggest transformation and it continues to grow me as a person as well, which is so fun!
