We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Marina Simovic-Pava. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Marina below.
Marina , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
Taking a risk!
Taking a risk is something I have done my whole life. I was raised in a small country, where I could not really grow and express myself creatively. I came to United States when I was twenty one years old , without family and friends and started my whole new life in a different country. In the beginning even the language was and obstacle, even though I study English in school, nothing really replaced real life experience. Adjustment to a new culture, race and language took a little while, but now I truly embraced and loved the diversity of New York. I discovered my strength and weaknesses and how to work with them. I discovered how much courage is needed and my gift to connect with other people easily. All of that helped me to discover my gift for healing and helping other people on their journey. I became a Reiki Master and Stretched therapist.
I would not know any of these gifts and talents if I didn’t work with my strength and weaknesses and took a risk in life!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Upon coming to United States, I was looking and discovering myself and what are my wants in life and having a career was one of them. I was in a different roles, professionally a salesman, assistant bookkeeper, assistant manager, event planner for different companies and a different time frames. I believe all of that discovery of who I truly am led me to a path to discovery that I am a healer. I applied for a position of a stretch therapy over almost a decade now and I fall in love. Later on I discovered I have ability to help people through Reiki so I got certified to be a Reiki Master and teach classes on Reiki Attunements as well. I help people to be the best version of themselves. What that truly means is to help them to sleep better, anxiety, stress, life challenges, pains and aches in the body which majority of time are not physical symptoms, but major emotional and mental obstacles.
I use Aromatherapy to assist me in the sessions, which clients love as an addition to their session.
I believe in holistic approach to a mind, body and spirit.
I am proud of the person of who I become, I remember my humble beginnings, I never forget where I am from.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe in honesty and transparency in life and business environment. I also strongly believe in being a good listener. If you are able to truly hear what other person thinks and feels you will succeed in life. The most important component for me in my career is to be kind to people, to have understanding where are they in life. Everyone is going through different and challenging moments in life, but to truly be present we have to be present ourselves to provide that space for healing to happen.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
As a business owner and entrepreneur growth is essential. I was always and avid reader but when you do start your business you have to be able to learn and apply. One of my mentors is Grant Cardone, from which I learned so much from it. Grant wrote The 10X Rule – it is a book to 10 X your growth in every area in your life.
The second book is The Big Power of Tiny Connection by Jenn Nash. This book was a great reminder how connecting with people can make a major impact in our life, but also very unconventional and creative ways how to connect.
