Hi Marijana, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

When you love what you do, success is guaranteed. Putting in work every day, investing in your business and continuing education are certainly necessary.
When you’re motivated and provide an excellent service to your clients, they will recognize and remember it.
It takes lots of love and creativity and that’s the key to success.

Marijana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I grew up watching my grandma plant flowers in her garden. This stuck with me growing up and my love for flowers turned into a passion. I used this passion for flowers to make arrangements and bouquets for my friends, which led other to reach out and request for me to do the same for their special occasions. Latter down the road a customer approached me asking if I could make a charcuterie platter. Little did I know this would reveal a talent and passion I didn’t know I had in my heart. I thought to myself “Why stop there”? This then led to a vision to unique events on a much larger scale.
I had a big dream and that dream came true. I started in Alaska, after that I moved to Austin, TX. At one point I felt I needed a new challenge when I decided to move to Chicago and start a business here.
My company is named “M Events” and we provide a vast amount of services from beautiful flower arrangements, charcuterie and fruit plates, balloon arrangements and event decorations. Any kind of events or special occasions, M Events finds a way to make it perfect, unique and rememberable.
What sets M Events apart is passion, drive and natural ability to provide unique services to clients that they will remember. I’m a very visual person who uses all my surroundings, big or small to inspire me.
It makes me very proud that I had a courage to follow my childhood dream and turned it into reality.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I believe social media is very important in today’s world. Social media and word of mouth, of course. Everyone can follow my instagram page “M Events” where we share beautiful photos and reels from our events. People will often find there an inspiration for their next special occasion.
My, by far, favorite way of getting new clients is by referrals from friends and happy customers.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?

Just like in any business, starting out is the most challenging. I was lucky to have saved some money and took courage to invest in a new business.
I was taking smaller projects in the beginning, the ones I could fund with no problems, and later on the business got well structured and I now I’m able to accomplish any vision my clients have.
