We recently connected with Marija Peshevska and have shared our conversation below.
Marija , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful takes a lot of patience, energy, and a lot of hard work. As a business owner, you don’t only do the things you like. Most of the time we are uncomfortable, when we learn one thing, the next day there is a new subsequent challenge to face. Get comfortable being uncomfortable, be patient, hustle, and focus on what matters the most.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started as a real estate agent. My sister is living back home in Macedonia, and she was helping me and another agent by being our virtual assistant. During the pandemic, we saw a huge demand for virtual assistants and we knew that we were doing amazing work, by providing great customer service and having experience in the field. We started training people and looking for clients. Most of our clients are still real estate agents as that is our niche. In the first year, we have helped over 80 clients with admin, marketing, and sales assistance.
We are very proud to say that we still have clients that started with us from the very beginning, and we are client and contractor-focused.
We provide better conditions of work and great salaries for people that don’t have as many opportunities as we do and on the other side we help small businesses to get their business off the ground by delegating the work and getting help in their day-to-day operations.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media takes a lot of work. Staying consistent on social media is key to building a social media presence. Currently, we have our team managing our social media channels although we have a lot of ideas and we are educating ourselves regarding digital marketing, as business owners this is our main focus since we believe that would be the main source for new clients besides the referrals. For people who are just starting to build their online presence, I would definitely say that you should plan, organize, strategize and schedule!
Social media presence is for the long term and it’s never too late to start building it.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Last year in September, we had three clients that were refusing to pay their assistants after one month of work. They were saying that they aren’t happy with the services even if they didn’t address this to the management team, and some of them were with us for over a year. This put a lot of stress on us as business owners, we didn’t feel that our contractors and our business deserved to be treated that way. Somehow we managed to build a negative momentum that lasted for two months, we had people complaining, and people leaving and we realized that we have been focusing on the negativity and for that same reason we attracted the negativity. That was the point where we choose that negativity will not determine who we are and we won’t let that take us down. Since then we always check on ourselves, the way we think, and choose to focus on the positive things that are happening. Our current motto is if one client leaves we have three more coming, and we focus on attracting that.
