We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mariia Kiseleva. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mariia below.
Mariia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
My journey into the world of creativity began easily at an early age, when I learned to hold pencils, brushes, paints and draw. I remember my mother began to let me color and draw pictures, and I drew and colored with her every day. Already at that age I liked bright colors. Then I liked making different handicrafts and modeling with clay, assembling a constructor. During school years I went to various creative circles and developed my creativity. Somewhere in the 7th grade, I decided that I would become a designer and create beautiful works of art. In 10th grade, she started studying web design and finally decided to tie her life to design and art. She also enrolled in extracurricular courses in interior design and eventually enrolled at Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, where she studied art and design. In her first year, she won a project to decorate one of the galleries with stained glass windows. During her studies, Maria showed the greatest interest in color theory along with drawing, painting, sculpture and computer science with applications in design. The artist began to develop professionally in drawing and painting, now with oils, as well as increasing her awareness and familiarity with a number of famous designers and artists. She began studying at several galleries while continuing her studies and working in a graphic design studio. She graduated in 2009 with a master’s degree and several successful exhibitions. The following exhibitions were held both in St. Petersburg and Moscow and in Europe and America.
In 2015 I exhibited for the first time at Art Basel in Miami. The paintings were exhibited at Gallery 212, the gallery of talented artist Michael Perez in downtown Wynwood. While walking around Wynwood, I stopped by to see the gallery and there I met this wonderful and talented man and artist who suggested I exhibit the paintings at Art Basel Gallery in Miami. I want to thank Michael Perez from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity and support to show my art to people. Today, the talented son of Jason Perez, who continues his family’s creative path and professional career by creating the Jason Perez Art Collective, is now on the team of many talented artists. Who presents his art at various exhibitions, you can see it all on his instagram page: https://instagram.com/jasonperezartcollective?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= and on his website: https://www.jasonperezart.com/
With a successful career in art and design, Maria travels around the world soaking up inspiration and gaining experience. During one of her travels, she fell in love with Miami and decided to settle here for a while to share her art and experiences with the people of this wonderful city.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
In my art I convey the energy of created space through the vibrant colors and shapes that are within us. Through my art: design and painting, I convey what we ourselves form from our energy – a life with an infinite variety of amazing spaces that we control ourselves. Just as in my paintings and designs, through the beauty I see in space, I create freedom, style and comfort. Every person in the galaxy is unique in their energy that can create unique spaces. So I created my space ARTFACEGALLERY, where I create beautiful paintings, designs and interiors for everyone. Where the best and most amazing ideas are realized here and now.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
My inspiration is life. In life, it’s very important to have a relationship
between beauty, style and comfort, and to see that relationship
is gracefully revealed, through its prism of creation to convey to man.
In art, life as beauty is a positive force, and the focus is to
to form an idea that captures it and brings that force to life; creation
will lead in turn to freedom, style, beauty and comfort. Which, in turn, will form a lens through which to see the versatility and splendor of life here and now.
“In life, it is important to have a relationship between beauty, style and comfort and seeing that relationship unfold gracefully.”
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I like the new direction of NFT because it allows for more creativity in the virtual world, which today and the future world will be influenced by and make wonderful changes in technology.
