We recently connected with Mariela Aguirre and have shared our conversation below.
Mariela, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
The biggest jump with the highest risk would have to have been leaving my safe corporate job of 16 years. I loved my job and what I did, however, the newfound world of real estate was a world I wanted to be a part of. All the pieces were coming together one by one that the decision was almost too obvious. With the leap of faith, I went on to pursue real estate and have not looked back. I know for certain this is where I am supposed to be and will pave its way to the road I am after.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Honestly the 3 top contenders have been word of mouth, networking, and social media, in that order. Nothing, in my opinion, will beat word of mouth advertising. Someone to vouch for you or your business speaks highly to someone else that trusts them. You can’t beat that!
Networking has opened a lot of doors and has built connections with others where them knowing you turns into word of mouth advertising with a simple referral. It just takes that one person to introduce you to their circle and business can pour in.
It goes without saying that social media has been a game changer. You can reach a world wide client base by a couple of taps on the screen or automate your business with integrated advertisements in each app. The possibilities are endless on social media especially with all the different platforms that are available.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Honestly, staying organized and consistency goes a long way. What keeps me organized with clients and affiliates is a good CRM. Once you setup your processes and systems to automatically keep up with each person, it really helps. There is no way a person can independently and successfully keep up with a huge client base. You need the help and there are tools to keep you aligned. Staying consistently helps to keep you relevant and top of mind. Implementing that into your CRM goes hand in hand.
