Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken:
In 2001, I’d been working as a teacher of Feng Shui and the Law of Attraction in Belgium and I had a sizable student base, but I felt as though it was time for me to lean into my full potential. So, with my husband, youngest son, and six suitcases in tow, I moved from my home-country to the United States of America. We left everything behind and, with just $3,000 in my pocket, I got to work rebuilding my business from scratch.
Fortune favors the bold because within just a year, I had attracted high-end, Oscar-winning clients, I was consulting and mentoring some of the biggest names in the self-help industry, and I was accepted into the Transformational Leadership Council. It was in this group of top transformational authors, speakers, and leaders that I made connections that would eventually lead me to starring in The Secret! My involvement with The Secret catapulted me to overnight stardom and it never would have been possible if I hadn’t taken that initial leap of faith.
Can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context:
My name is Marie Diamond and I am a world-renowned Master Teacher of Feng Shui and the Law of Attraction, a global best-selling author, and the executive producer and star of the major network TV series “Feng Shui Your Life”. I also starred in the global phenomenon “The Secret”.
I’ve spent the last thirty years traveling all over the world teaching my students and A-list clients alike how to transform their homes into their very own three-dimensional vision boards in order to manifest the life of their dreams.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
In order to grow and retain your client base, you must be authentic and stay committed to your vision. After a near-death experience as a teenager, I made it my mission in life to enlighten 500 million people and so everything I do is motivated by my desire to share my wisdom and help transform the lives’ of others. Stay true to yourself, your goals, and your values because people crave authenticity and so when they find it, they’ll keep coming back. I have clients who have been with me for decades because they know that passion and integrity are at the heart of everything I do.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I came to the US, I unexpectedly fell pregnant and I had next to nothing in terms of a financial safety net. I was the sole provider and so, even after a tough labor, I knew I had to get back to work. As tough as it was, I knew that I would be okay and that giving up wasn’t an option. Just as things seemed to be at their darkest, I received financial gifts from my students that helped me keep my head above water and eventually got me back on my feet. Even if you can’t see the solution at the moment, even if things are immediately clear; keep your heart open and trust that it will come.
