We were lucky to catch up with Maribel Maignan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Maribel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Lifted in Faith was born out of a desire to bring people closer to God through physical and spiritual well-being. Fitness and wellness have always been a core part of my life, but I often felt something was missing in the traditional fitness spaces I encountered—a deeper sense of purpose and connection to faith.
As someone who loves fitness and is grounded in my Catholic faith, I’ve experienced firsthand how the two can complement each other beautifully. I realized that nurturing the body can also be a way of glorifying God, aligning with the idea that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. This connection inspired me to create a space where like-minded individuals could come together to lift not just weights, but each other, in faith.
The mission of Lifted in Faith is meaningful to me because it merges my two passions—faith and fitness—into a community that fosters holistic growth. It’s about creating an inclusive space where people can strengthen their relationship with God while taking care of their physical health. This mission drives me because I believe we’re called to honor God in everything we do, including how we treat and care for our bodies.
Ultimately, Lifted in Faith is more than a fitness community; it’s a movement to inspire people to live their best lives physically, emotionally, and spiritually—all for the glory of God.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Maribel, and I’m the founder of Lifted in Faith, a Christian fitness and wellness community that’s all about building a safe, fun, and uplifting space for young believers. The idea behind Lifted in Faith comes from a personal struggle I’ve faced: finding like-minded individuals who are not only committed to their fitness and wellness goals but also deeply rooted in their faith.
Over the past couple of years, I’ve noticed a growing movement of young people coming to Christ, but there’s often a lack of spaces where they can connect and share their faith with others. For me, it was challenging to find people my age who loved Jesus and were actively living out their faith. In my own church, we don’t have a young adults group or a place for young believers to gather, so I often felt isolated in my faith journey. This is why Lifted in Faith is so important to me—it’s about building a community where young Christians can find a place of belonging, encouragement, and fellowship.
What We Offer
At Lifted in Faith, we bring people together for fitness and wellness events with a purpose. From group workouts to wellness workshops, everything we do is grounded in faith and designed to foster authentic community. Beyond the physical aspect, we also create opportunities for people to grow spiritually and connect with others who share their love for Jesus.
Our Mission
Our mission is to show that living as a Christian doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. We create spaces where believers can come together, enjoy themselves, and celebrate life in ways that honor God—without the influence of drinking, smoking, or anything that detracts from a pure and joyful experience. It’s about rediscovering what it means to have genuine fun and fellowship, all while staying true to your faith.
Why Fitness and Wellness?
Over the last year, fitness and wellness events have brought me so much joy. These experiences have helped me connect with others, take care of my body, and find balance in my life. That’s why I’ve incorporated this element into Lifted in Faith. It’s more than just a workout—it’s a way to glorify God by stewarding the bodies He’s given us while building meaningful connections with others.
What Sets Us Apart
Lifted in Faith is unique because it blends fitness, wellness, and faith in a way that fosters both personal growth and community. It’s a safe space for young Christians to come together, share their journeys, and have fun—all while growing closer to God.
What I Want People to Know
At the heart of Lifted in Faith is the desire to create a community I wish I had—one where young Christians feel seen, supported, and celebrated. But it doesn’t stop there. We welcome everyone, regardless of denomination, background, or where they are in their faith journey. Whether you’re deeply rooted in your beliefs, exploring your relationship with God, or even unsure of what you believe, this is a space for you.
I try to cultivate a judgment-free zone because I believe there’s already enough separation in the world. At Lifted in Faith, it’s not about labels or divisions—it’s about unity, love, and building each other up in Christ. Together, we’ll grow stronger in faith, build genuine friendships, and create a community where everyone feels welcome and valued.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
At Lifted in Faith, staying connected with our community is key to fostering strong relationships and brand loyalty. We make it a point to engage with our members regularly through social media, email updates, and group chats, where we share upcoming events, inspiring content, and personal messages to make everyone feel involved and valued.
Brand loyalty for us comes from consistency, authenticity, and genuine care. I take time to personally connect with our members, celebrating their wins, listening to their feedback, and making sure they feel like they’re part of a supportive, welcoming community. We also offer exclusive content and perks—such as early event access and special giveaways—to ensure our members feel appreciated.
Ultimately, the focus is on creating meaningful experiences that encourage connection and provide value, making Lifted in Faith more than just a fitness community but a place where people feel seen, heard, and supported in their faith journey.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Absolutely! Several resources have shaped my approach to leadership and entrepreneurship:
1. The Bible – As a faith-based entrepreneur, scripture is my greatest guide. Passages like Proverbs 16:3 (“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established”) remind me to stay grounded in my purpose and trust God with the process.
2. “Start with Why” by Simon Sinek – This book helped me focus on the deeper “why” behind Lifted in Faith and taught me the importance of leading with purpose. It reinforced my belief that people connect most with brands that inspire them.
3. “Atomic Habits” by James Clear – This book has been invaluable for building systems and routines that keep me consistent as a leader. It’s also helped me understand the power of small changes in creating lasting impact.
4. Faith-Based Podcasts and Sermons – I regularly listen to podcasts like The Bible Project, Girls Gone Bible, and sermons from leaders in my church. These resources help me stay spiritually aligned while providing practical wisdom for navigating challenges as an entrepreneur.
These resources, combined with my personal experiences, have helped me create a brand that’s mission-driven, community-focused, and aligned with my faith.
