Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maribel Andres. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Maribel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
Well I started off with a small business. Just planning events for family members at no cost. Then I started to design my own bouquets and customize other accessories. In our culture we celebrate Quincenearas. Thats when a girl turns 15 and is considered becoming a young women so a big event is done in her honor. I also design formal dresses for these events. I love to work with people in making their dream event as beautiful and memorable as can be. My biggest satisfaction is seeing the turn out and the happiness and smiles of my customers.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
It’s a big struggle competing with these big businesses. But what we stand out for is because we design everything and most of our customers also help design their things. I’m very flexible and I like to take my time with my customers. I think our originality has helped us to become more known out there. It has been a struggle being a full- time mom but my family has supported me in many ways as possible. And now with us doing online and putting my designs in the media has helped our products to be known all over the U.S.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Well when I started my business I only had $2000 I bought merchandise and it didn’t seem as much. Now my business has gotten stronger. I have more knowledge on selling online and we ship out our designs. And we’ve merged to starting event planning for quinceneara and weddings etc.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Well social media has helped me in many ways. At first I was a little afraid I wouldn’t be seen out there. Now I have my etsy store, i work on tik tok, facebook marketplace and instagram. And had my web page designed www. Charreriaandres.com. I’ve had customers from all Over the U.S contact me and buy my products.
