We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mariana Macias. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mariana below.
Mariana, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Yes, of course, there was! The simple fact that I started from scratch in all senses to build the career I have today was a defining moment for me. I studied marketing as an initial career, I also did a master’s degree in marketing as well, and by chance of fate I ended up doing my internship with a life coach. This changed my life, the first time I came to this industry, and I found out that I could make a living contributing to others, creating spaces of possibility in others’ lives and businesses I was like WHAT? Where can I sign up? However, I had this thought of “I am too young to do it!” So I continued in marketing for a few more months… until AHA- here it comes the defining moment (another one). I had to experience a life-threatening accident where I had one of my scariest but liveful moments as well, where I was able to reflect and think about what I really wanted in life and to see that life is too short for doing something that is not really what you are called for, something that you not only resonate with but you are passionate about. So, that was the moment that not only my healing process began but also my life and career initiated. This is how I went to do my coaching certification, and specialization and started building this business. One of my biggest lessons from these defining moments in my life is: all things can be possible when you are willing not only to believe but to do the work in all ways, not only as work-work but also work on ourselves on mindset, spirit, and body. Cause it is all connected. You want results? You want clients? Okey, it is not only getting hands- on the technical or savvy part but how are we mentally, and spiritually, I mean it’s all energetic as well.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
Yes of course! So, my coaching journey began 5 years ago, when I decided to just jump into the entrepreneur life. I decided to start my own business, and I got certified as a life coach by the ICF. Then I decided to specialize on Executive Business Coaching and also in Performance Coaching. Today, I am positioned as the coach of TOP-PERFORMING LEADERS & C SUITE EXECUTIVES !!
What exactly do I mean by “Top Performer” individual: Any leader who is committed to keeping up with smashing their goals! This person is accountable, honest, passionate and a rockstar in his/her life. But there’s a point in life when we need to start doing something else, something bigger and deeper within ourselves. What can possibly show up in your life today, if you were open to receiving thoughtful questions from your coach? What GAPS could you be able to close? What spaces could you start opening and creating in your life? How would these responses look reflected in your performance?
Questions are the genesis of human growth and expansion. How often do you create safe spaces for questioning & pondering? So, basically one of the things I do is open this space together. At the end of the day, the level of your performance is related to the quality of your life.

One of the things that I feel very proud of is that I started this business at only 25 years old, and this has been growing organically. The way I got positioned as the coach of top performers and top executive leaders has been AMAZING. It is exceedingly abundant than I would ever imagine! It has been quite a challenge though, coaching people that are in their 40’s, 50’s, and even 60’s. So yes, everything has been worked and earned organically, and I am very proud of that.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I used to think that everything has a correct order in life and that most doors and opportunities will be opened and created through years of experience only. And don’t take me wrong, some part of this is true but I did have to UNlearn the fact that the only way to get there is through years of experience and with an order. As part of my “life plan” was to be a coach, but I never thought I would start at 25 years old. I used to see and think that most of the coaches were around their 40’s or 50’s and that was the only way to build credibility because of their years of experience. And so, I was willing to build a marketing career and after having “years” of life experience, then I would build my coaching business, thinking like in my 40’s. But this all changed and moved so quickly after having my accident and realizing that I did not wanted to wait, and that life is short and life is now, and that I needed and wanted to act. So, that’s when I decided to leave everything and bet all to coaching. And it’s been such an amazing journey so far, and I definitely needed to learn that I am learning, but we all! Including the 40 and 50 year old coaches, and that my experience is good, and that I am enough and so capable to coach whoever I can! And yes, doors had been opened, opportunities had been created but not from past experience but future potential, because I am willing and VERY committed to keep giving, sharing, learning, growing, and working every day, as well as enjoying my process. And i WON’T STOP!!!
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
I believe the answer would be NO!!!! I wouldn’t choose any different profession than the one I chose, and that includes also the marketing one!!! I wouldn’t change anything. I believe that everything happens for a reason. And you can’t imagine how useful it has been for me to have a marketing background degree, but a master’s specialty also this. It has helped to give me more perspective about my business, and how to leverage it. Coaching as a career and business, by the other hand, has been the best decision EVER in my whole life! And the specialties I’ve chosen such as Performance and Executive Coaching have been so accurate as well. I enjoy all of it, and like everything in life with its highs and lows, challenges and rewards, I found myself the luckiest being able to work in the miracle industry! hehe.
