We recently connected with Mariana & Adriana Noyola and have shared our conversation below.
Mariana & Adriana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
In 2020 I, Mariana Noyola, created a balloon garland for my best friends birthday. That day her husband told me ” you know people do this for a living, you could make some money off of this”. It was like a light bulb went off in my head! I love throwing parties and I love making decorations! After a few days debating this idea in my head I decided I wanted to start a balloon decorating business but not alone. My sister, Adriana, also loved working with balloons and I knew this was something we could do together. So I asked her if she wanted to start this business with me and that was that. We honestly had no idea how much work would go into this and the road bumps we would encounter. We started with nothing and tried to quickly build our inventory of balloons. In the beginning we could not take orders because the balloons we needed either would not arrive in time or were not available due to the balloon shortage, that’s right! There were no balloons to buy! But now, we are well stocked and can make next day orders and even same day orders. Once we learned how to overcome the problems we faced, we realized we could succeed in this business.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are Adriana and Mariana Noyola. We are 2 sisters who grew up in Arlington, Tx and have a serious love for parties! We turned our love for parties into a business by providing the DFW with balloons! We create larger than life balloon decorations for all special occasions. Have you ever bought a bag of balloons for your party and realized “These are not creating the wow factor I thought they would” or ” How am I supposed to blow up 50 balloons? I’m out of breathe blowing up one!” We take care of those problems while you enjoy your party. At our core we are here to be of service. We are nothing if we are not of service to those in our community. We have partnered with the Arlington Police Department Santa Cop program and the Arlington Public Library Dia De Los Ninos program. We donate our time and creations to these events dedicated to the children in our community. As long as this company exist, we will continue to offer more and more to our community.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building your audience on social media is not an easy task. I think its even more difficult for local services like us. You would think the goal would be to gain as many followers as possible but that is far from it. Being a local service, that does not offer products that can be delivered nationwide, you are only looking to gain local followers. It is important to make it clear where you are located and to try to attract local followers. If one of your post/reels takes off and gets a ton of likes/followers from people all around the world, it starts to attract more than just the local people you are hoping to turn into customers. Its important for us to have an authentic following vs a ton of followers who could really care less about what we have to offer.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Early on we found the Bright Balloon Podcast that offered a ton of free information! It is a great place to start for new balloon businesses. But the classes we would recommend the most were business and marketing classes. We have found that our city offers multiple free courses for new business owners and it has been a valuable resource.
