Alright, Mariam thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
As a makeup artist and proud owner of my own salon, I couldn’t be happier with the path I’ve chosen. Every day, I have the privilege of unleashing my creativity and enhancing the natural beauty of my clients. Building my own business has been a rewarding journey, allowing me to set my own schedule, create a unique brand, and cultivate a loyal clientele. While challenges do arise, the joy I derive from seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces and witnessing their confidence soar is immeasurable. I can honestly say that I have found my passion and purpose in being a makeup artist. At times, I may wonder what it would be like to have a regular job with a fixed routine, but the freedom, fulfillment, and endless possibilities that come with being a business owner make it all worthwhile.

Growing up I experimented with different makeup techniques and styles and I realized my passion was in helping others look and feel their best! I started to get involved in the industry by pursuing professional training and certifications. Now I own my own salon and offer many makeup and hair services with a great team of talented women! I take the time to listen and communicate with each of my clients because I want to make sure their vision is brought to life and I can customize everything to their needs! Not only do I cater towards my clients aesthetic needs but their emotional well being as well. I want to make sure my clients feel safe and cared for in my salon. I have had many hardships and challenges throughout my life that brought me to where I am today. I am so grateful that I have my own business and get to work hard for it everyday. I believe everyone deserves a chance to follow their dreams, just as I did, and I want to be able to make that happen! That is why I still continue to grow my team to this day! I want nothing but success for my team and I will give them whatever they need to make that happen. My salon is not just a business it is a family.

As a makeup artist and proud owner of a successful salon, I have learned many valuable lessons about managing a team and maintaining high morale among my talented staff. One of the most crucial aspects of fostering a positive and productive work environment is effective communication. I prioritize open and transparent lines of communication, ensuring that my team feels comfortable expressing their ideas, concerns, and creative visions.One-on-one check-ins allow me to provide constructive feedback, recognize their achievements, and address any challenges. I also encourage a collaborative atmosphere where everyone’s input is valued and respected. In addition to communication, I believe in leading by example. I strive to create a harmonious work culture by embodying professionalism, passion, and dedication. By demonstrating a strong work ethic, I inspire my team to give their best every day. Recognizing and appreciating the hard work and dedication of my team members is a vital aspect of maintaining high morale. I express my gratitude through verbal praise, personalized notes of appreciation, and periodic bonuses or incentives. By acknowledging their contributions, I ensure that each team member feels valued and motivated to continue delivering their best work. Finally, I understand the importance of work-life balance and encourage my team to prioritize self-care and well-being.
