Alright, Mariam thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?

Howdy ! I started illustrating when I entered the planner community. I was bullet journaling and sharing some of my art on social media. People started to enjoy the art and then we put the art on stickers, various stationery and then we entered the children’s book world and it’s been a blast.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Well believe it or not, I took a chance on myself. Each year I do what they call “one word” that one word is supposed to be something you do or work on for the whole year. Well my word was “yes “ I had to say yes to things, even if it made me uncomfortable. Someone said I should open up a shop and I said “yes “!

I had no idea how but I learned on the job. People took notice of the art and we started getting request for children’s books.

We now illustrate for women or we teach them how to illustrate for themselves so that they can share their message with the next generation.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

Making people happy! Helping women tell their stories! Seeing children love the characters. These are the things that make me have and the most rewarding part is helping women live their dream.

I haven’t even gotten into this yet! It’s definitely something I’ve considered looking into but we aren’t looking to go down that path just yet.
