We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Maria Swann a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Maria, appreciate you joining us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea?
I started when people started asking me to style them for big events. I was like hmmmm maybe I’m on to something.
I immediately started taking community business classes and doing what I needed to do in order understand what having a business actually was.
Within months I hired a business start up coach and went to social media to bring awareness to my new venture!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a Confidence & Wardrobe Builder.
I help busy ambitious Women who deal with anxiety and depression create a System, Mindset & Style in order for them to have what I call a “Grab-n-Go” wardrobe.
I help them get dressed and look amazing in less than 5 minutes everyday of the week and take away the overwhelm that comes with shopping.
As ambitious driven women, we don’t have time to add on to the to do “list”. A lot of Women don’t focus on the way they dress because it’s something else that takes time away from other important things. I want to bring relief for them and help them show up confidently and authentically in what they wear every day
Have you ever had to pivot?
I started my business in 2019 and told everyone I was doing closet organizing. Well as 2020 would surprise us all, we had to social distance and that couldn’t take place.
I invested in a coach and pivoted to virtual styling and closet organizing.
The scariest BEST decision I could have ever made.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience from LIVES. I went LIVE all the time on Facebook and my audience built very quickly.
People love to see who is behind “the big idea”.
