Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Maria Silva. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Maria , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
I had a very good, stable, high paying job for over 13 years. I was good at what I was doing. I just knew I craved more out of life. I was fulfilled anymore. I craved growth & bigger impact. I was a server/restaurant manager. I loved my job but I wanted to spread my wings & fly.
So I took a big risk. I put in a notice with a snall plan in my mind and took off into the unknown. I didn’t want a restaurant. Heck, I don’t enjoy cooking!! But God lead us to exactly that, our own restaurant. All of those years of building & loving someone else’s business was indeed preparation for my own business.
It was the biggest risk to take! Going from making good money to quickly unemployed to starting a business from the ground up was not easy at all! It has been the most beautiful & stressful situation ever!!
I learned to trust God more than ever though. I knew that He would never give me the business idea without giving me the customers to make this business what it is today. God hasbeen more than faithful. He has always provided & made ways for us. Trulysl the biggest risk was stepping out into the unknown of a new business but seeing God working every single day for our good.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve always known & felt that I was different. I never quite fit in anywhere, even at school. I wasn’t a popular kid or the one who got invited to places. Even to date, I am not your usual girl. I get it now though. I was never born to fit in, I was set apart before I was even born to do big things for His kingdom.
Besides being a restaurant owner, I have a God given Ministry too. Revive My Heart Ministries. God gave me that name over a year ago and I totally understand how everything is coming together to make my story shine brightly for His Glory.
When I decided I wanted to open up my own business, it was because I had already been doing alot of mindset work with a coach. That alone started shifting my perspective on alot of my life. Then I did a course to break free from generational strongholds and on forgiveness. My coaches helped me realize that I was meant to be a transformation coach, helping others with their mind, body & soul.
Well, I was pretty okay on the mind & soul parts of life. I could help you through that easily because I had just struggled with that. It was the “body” part I couldn’t coach on. I felt like a big hypocrite coaching on body when my own body was at its worst ever!!
Opening a business took a huge drastic toll on my body. I was at my heaviest and most tired ever!! I was truly at my wit’s ends when God answered my prayers on how to take control of my body. I knew I needed to because we are called to take care of our temples, which is home to the Holy Spirit who resides in us. Conviction was real!! In came my wonderful friend & introduced me to the most natural & homeopathic supplements that have helped me transform my own health around. Two & a half months in and i feel REVIVED. Hence the name of my Ministry, Revive My Heart. When I was truly at my heaviest, worst, most frustrated place in my health journey, God revived my own heart & I found my passion & joy in SERVING again.
I truly understand what it was God was doing all along. All of the pieces have added up to this & I am so grateful for it all. I have a Podcast, Revive My Heart, and I also am fully launching my coaching business now that I have all of the tools to do so, plus I am a growing Brand Partner with Bravenly who makes all of our neuropathic supplements that are helping many transform their own health too.
Transformation & revival is exactly what is needed in many hearts and minds & I can’t wait to see how God uses me to be a part of this all.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy to grow a business, your platform or anything in general is to just be yourself. Social media is a big platform where many times, we just portray the pretty and cute moments, not the valley (ugly) moments. I have been as real, raw & vulnerable as many times as I can. That helps others relate to me & my story or what I am going through at the moment. Being real relates and that’s what we want. We want real and honest connections. We don’t want just IG worthy content. I don’t just share my big mountaintop moments, I also share my deep, in the trenches, raw moments too and that creates trust. You want others to trust you. Don’t just fake it. Bring real value into what you’re creating.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Allowinh God to lead. That’s my big secret on how I am doing all of the things, all while being a momma and wife!! I pray over my businesses multiple times a day, I allow God to just do what He has to do and truly just trust Him with all that I am.
Lead by example has been my motto. I won’t just talk the talk, I will walk the walk. I will go first in OBEDIENCE so YOU can see that it can all be done.
I don’t play with a comparison heart, I genuinely want us all to win, same industries or not. I think that’s my tip. There is enough success available to every single one of us. There is no need to bash, compete or downplay someone else doing similar to what you’re doing.
Lead by example in all that you do.
