Maria, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

I was an executive of a huge company overseeing over 100 employees. After 15 years employed with this company, In 2017, I decided to quit after realizing that i am overworked and neglecting myself.

That year was the time when social media is at its peak or i should I say the video posting is becoming consistent.

Back then, I am not a big fan of this new way of communication. I hated facebook and other social media platform. I rarely post or go there.

A month after I quit my job, I trying to figure out what i would do next in my life. What should be my next career. And I decided to Start My Own Business.

At first, i struggle what type of business should i start. and then, I thought, I need to come up with something that can solve a problem.

A business that can solve what the people most complaining about.

Back then, A lot of people i know, talked about how much they hated social media. It’s intoxicating, distracting and just totally nonsense.

People or social media users endlessly posting, their negativity, and nonsense. They are forgetting the reality of life. So absorbed on such thing that is ruining the in person interaction, communication, and being in the real-time moment…. so delusional.

Besides my outlook of social media, I saw it becoming the norm, and it continues to evolve day after day after day. As it becoming a bigger problem in our society.

A problem that i would like to be part of resolving. They said if “you can’t beat them, join them.”

In 2017, I visioned that social media would be a big deal in livestreaming in 2020 (and yet it became huge in 2020.) So June, 2017, I decided to start a broadcasting company that will be streaming LIVE on all social media. A LIVE in real-time show which only demonstrates inspirational, positivity, uplifting, entertaining, educational, and promoting/supporting one another. I wanted to change one person at a time that sign on social media. I want that all the content i put out opposite of what everyones posting.

After deciding what would i want to do, I took the time to learn how to set up broadcasting on social media. I self-thought myself how to handle camera, sound engineering, editing, and set-up green screen.

AFter 6 months of planning, learning, trying set-up and all…. i scheduled a pilot episode for my idea of becoming the first Internet TV Network, broadcasting LIVE in real-time.

I invited 9 people to have their tv shows for free. Broadcasting LIVE in my studio apartment. Meanwhile I presented this idea to multiple people, and get all NO’s. This didn’t discouraged me. I continued to push through with ZERO funds. I utilize my Mac Computer camera and bought a $20 microphone use my kitchen stool chair. One stool chair serves as the TV Host sits and one serves as a table on the side where a flower decorations is set up.

In The first few months, it was a disaster. Videos are terrible, sounds goes off or static. People are cruel, they tell me to stop doing what i am doing. People sending me private message telling me stop embarrassing myself…. hahahaha. They even told me that they will never ever support me.

Well, those comments, initiated a fire in me. In September 2018 I launched Social Media Shows TV Network with more shows added month after month. More viewers started to follow and subscribe on our channel. As of today, I had produced over 100 TV Shows with over 10,000 episodes. Social Media Shows have gained over 20 million of views around the world with over 70,000 followers and subscribers.

In 2019, we moved from my apartment to a building where we created designed our own TV Studio.

In the last 15 months, I have been recognized as most consistent person in this business by few big names in Las Vegas.

I also have been approached by many of those people that used to negatively criticizing my work of art.

And businesses, and other people are now willing to invest on me and on Social Media Shows.

My TV Channel is now a well improved creation compared to when I started. I worked so hard everyday for over 5 years
to be on this level. I have so many more to work on. This isn’t the perfection I intend to be at. but with my proven success year after year since I started…. I believed I am on the right track.

All these things won’t be possible without the Operator of Social Media Shows TV Network…. and that is GOD! I am just the driver! He directs where i need to go.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

Building an audience is absolutely pain in the butt. My over 70K followers are all organic. I gained those for the last 5 years o Social Media Shows TV Network existence.

You might be wondering why only 70K for 5 years? That’s seems too low. Yes it is low for 5 years. But what i loved about these followers that many of social media influencer don’t have is “organic followers”.

I had promised myself from the very start (2017), that no matter what happens, I will not pay anyone to follow me. I wanted to prove to myself that viewers will follow me because they are inspired, educated, and entertained with our content. I strongly believed that Paid followers are the people that shouldn’t be in the circle of Social Media Shows followers. They are not our target market.

Therefore I would say to those who want to build a social media presence… Ask yourself, which is more important to you. Do you want to have the fake fame or you do you want to be known because you believed in your passion and work?

Whichever you want to be… that is all up to you. Do what do you think make it right for your on presence and existence on social media.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

I started Social Media Shows TV Network with Zero funds. I utilized things I already at that time start. My Mac Computer, my home internet, my home furnitures all filming LIVE in my studio apartment.

I reached out to a lot of people that could help me funding Social Media Shows so I can buy a better equipment and get to a bigger TV Studio place (I was doing 9 TV with 12 different hosts at that time) But every single one i reached out to… said no!

So slowly, i bought everything out-of-pocket.
