Maria Jose, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the best thing you’ve ever seen (or done yourself) to show a customer that you appreciate them?
One of the many perks about being a florist is the potential to bring joy and love to any person at any moment. At Lovelia, all my clients have a very big place in my heart because they are not only supporting my business, but they are trusting me with one of the most important moments in their life, their wedding!
Designing flowers for weddings is a process that can take months or even a year. And thanks to that process I get to know my clients very well, and sometimes we create a friendship. And sometimes I’m even a part of other moments in their life, celebrating and bringing flowers!
For example, something that happens to me a lot, is when my brides call me all excited to give me the news that they are having a baby! I love to bring some flowers to celebrate with them and welcome their beautiful new addition to their family.
Other times when a client is going through a tough time, I love to cheer them up with a little bouquet just because.
And definitely during Christmas, I just love to create a little gift to wish them a happy holiday season.
To me, it’s just about being present, whether with flowers or with a simple email. I just want them to know I care for them. Flowers are my way to express love and to be present in my client’s moments (happy or sad).

My name is Maria Jose, and I am a Floral Designer at Lovelia Floral.
Having worked as a Wedding Planner, Florist, Interior Designer, Catering Coordinator, and Bridal Stylist for 12 years, I have discovered that flowers are my true love language! No matter where I am or what I’m doing, I always find a way to incorporate flowers into my life.
Lovelia goes beyond being a simple Floral Design Studio. It is a platform to express love through the beauty of flowers, adding that special floral touch to your most cherished moments.
Our main focus is floral design for weddings, however we offer floral designs for special occasions and celebrations as well.
I am here to help couples enjoy their wedding planning process, and to remind them to stop and smell the flowers together throughout their journey of planning one of life’s biggest celebrations!
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Definitely exceptional quality in our work and service is key to build loyalty. A lot of our clients find us by recommendation from our past clients.
Having worked in the wedding industry for 12 years has helped me not only in my flower business, but in cultivating friends and helping them during their wedding process. Many times I am the friend who gives them advice, or helps them find other vendors. And having gone through the same process of planning my own wedding helps me connect more with them and provide them with calm when they need it most.
I like to be present during their process, either with a simple email, a quick text, or meetings when we need them. I always want to know how they are and how I can help them. A simple message can definitely go a long way!
We also like to send a little note after their wedding, on their anniversary, birthdays, valentines day, mothers day, and any other important occasion or any moment. And during the holidays, we love to create little gifts to our clients to show appreciation.
In the end, our purpose is to love and give love. And we always remember that it’s thanks to our clients that we are able to continue creating and making what we love, flowers!
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think this question goes hand in hand with the first one, and in a nutshell, to me the whole experience from beginning to and end has to be amazing!
We really strive to take care of every single detail in a way that’s stress free and beautiful. From the very first call, giving a free consultation, to being honest, transparent and clear with the way we work, it’s all designed to be fun and exciting.
A lot of the time, our clients don’t have any idea of flowers and budget for their wedding. I’m here to guide them, to maximize their budget in a very smart way. That helps me to set expectations an be creative so that they can be happy with the result.
To me, the more honest and clear you are, the happier your clients will be!
I also always try to give something extra the day of their wedding, and that is something that clients always appreciate. And we take care of our quality in our products, flowers and materials. Those details that you may not see, but that make the biggest impact.
At Lovelia we are not just delivering a product – ultimately we really care about our clients and give importance to their wedding! And we’re so proud to be able to say that most of our new clients come from recommendations from past clients!
