Hi Maria, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?

The story behind my mission to keep my own business is simply because I suffer I suffer with pcos and infertility. With pcos being a big factor of my life it came with insecurities being a plus size girl. I lacked self confidence. Being a spray tan artist I want to make sure all body sizes feel comfortable and never feel the way I did. A spray tan boosts confidence so much I never felt more beautiful in a safe glow. And I strive to make others no matter the size feel just as confident and beautiful as I have. Spray tans are the secret to a huge confidence boost.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I got into the spray tan industry because being a plus size girl my self I always felt uncomfortable showing my body being spray tanned for the first time and the bad experience that I had I wanted to be that difference. No matter the size no matter the body type I want everyone that steps into my studio feel comfortable and have confidence in themselves. The main thing I want clients/followers to know all bodies are beautiful don’t ever apologize for your body come in with confidence and boost that with a nice glowing tan.I am most proud to be the difference and supporting every body type that steps into the studio. It’s a safe and nonjudgmental environment for everyone.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

I am all self work. I took the classes needed to start my business and I spend hours a day researching and looking for new ways to keep my business unique and different from others. I don’t know anyone with their own business but I strive to be the best for myself and clients the beauty industry is always changing so I am always researching and learning new techniques to be the best spray tan artist around. I don’t have help with funding I do everything myself and out of pocket but my business is everything to me so if that’s what it takes it’s what I do to be the best.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I built my audience by friends and family support. I still am working on gaining more audience. It costs $0.00 to share someone’s small business I could not be more greatful to everyone who has supported me during my business journey. I have goals to become bigger my dream is to be a traveling spray tan artist and have my own solution line soon.
