We recently connected with Maria De Caprio and have shared our conversation below.
Maria , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe success requires a mix of hard work, persistence, and adaptability, but also a clear and focused mindset.
For me, visualizing my goals and writing them down is crucial to staying on track. I find it helpful to listen to positive audios and read books that inspire me and help me grow, Also surrounding myself with like minded people who are positive and who want to win is extremely important.
Sometimes, it even takes a healthy level of obsession over your goals to push through challenges and stay dedicated, and being passionate about your work is key!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was born in Lima, Perú, and raised between Orlando and Los Angeles, which has given me a broad perspective on different communities and what truly makes a place feel like home. My passion for working with people and helping them realize their dreams led me into real estate. Winning the Miss Peru Grand and Miss Grand International pageants provided me with the tenacity, resilience, and focus that have greatly contributed to my success in real estate. The same steps and mindset that led me to win the crown are what I apply to my career every day.
My son Kenzo, is my biggest motivation. I wanted a career that would allow me to provide for him while utilizing my strengths, being hardworking, optimistic, and committed to helping others. Now, as a real estate agent with the Kaminsky Real Estate Group, I specialize in guiding clients through the home buying or selling process. The joy I see on my clients’ faces when they find their dream home is what keeps me driven and passionate about what I do. : )
Here’s the updated version with your network marketing experience included:
I was born in Lima, Perú, and raised between Orlando and Los Angeles.
My journey into real estate was shaped by many experiences, including my time in a network marketing/sales company where I focused heavily on personal growth. This environment really helped me to have winning mindset, which played a huge role in helping me succeed, first in the Miss Peru Pageant and Miss Grand International, and now in real estate. All of my life experiences have prepared me for where I am in my life now.
My son Kenzo, is my biggest motivation. I wanted a career that would allow me to provide and be independent while utilizing my strengths, being hardworking, optimistic, and committed to helping others. As a Real Estate Agent with the Kaminsky Real Estate Group, I specialize in guiding clients through the home-buying and selling process.
Seeing the joy on my clients’ faces when they find their dream home and being able to actually help them get the home in this competitive market, is what drives me forward and keeps me motivated.
I bring the work ethic, passion and mind set that I have learned throughout my life experiences to every transaction and relationship in my real estate career.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I’ve always had a passion for real estate. In fact, I began studying it just before winning the Miss Peru pageant. When the opportunity to participate came up, I didn’t hesitate and just grabbed it because I had always dreamed of representing my country. Winning Miss Peru Grand and then Miss Grand International meant I had to pause my real estate journey for about two years. After finishing my year as Miss Grand International and becoming a mom, I resumed my real estate studies and never looked back. :)
Starting a new career in the competitive world of real estate while raising a baby was incredibly challenging, but I knew I could do it. I pushed myself to study, pass the exam, and in my first year, I sold 11 homes. My husband and my family have definitely been a huge source of support throughout this journey, and I owe a lot of my success to them as well. <3
How did you build your audience on social media?
Most of my Instagram audience grew after I won Miss Grand International. I had about 10k followers before that. People started following me to keep up with my year living in Thailand and traveling around the world. I posted a lot, sometimes multiple times a day, and even after my year as Miss Grand International ended, I kept it up.
Eventually, I started working with companies, partnering with them, and getting paid for collaborations. The key is being consistent and staying focused if you want to grow your audience.
I think my followers stick around because I keep my Instagram active, and I balance posts between my work and fun content I know they’ll enjoy!
