We recently connected with Maria Alejandra Hernandez and have shared our conversation below.
Maria Alejandra , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s go back in time a bit – can you share a story of a time when you learned an important lesson during your education?
Sometimes I amaze myself with how I operate and decide everything I do; how could I be so aligned with my Alma Mater? Choosing a university was hard for me. My parents went to the same university(actually where they met), so for them and my sister, it was a pretty obvious decision, the same. Don’t get me wrong; it was a fantastic campus option, but not for me.
Instead, I had the privilege of attending a university seamlessly integrated into the breathtaking landscape of “El Avila,” a majestic mountain range that envelops my beloved hometown of Caracas. The campus was immersed in a culture of constant progress, creativity, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in all aspects of life. It was a community that valued collaboration and encouraged leadership skills daily, where we dared to dream and worked hard to make those dreams a reality.
We had state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories(to play and experiment) that allowed our ideas to flow freely, and of course, our legendary tree, “El saman”, a constant reminder of our strength and resilience.
Unsurprisingly, I’m obsessed with innovation, any problem-solving activity, and I have an entrepreneurial spirit running through my veins.
My university, Universidad Metropolitana (Unimet), gave me much more than knowledge, a way to think, live, dream, and build. Without it, my business wouldn’t exist.
That orange shade will be with me and my journey every step of the way.
Maria Alejandra , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I found my purpose by serendipity. One day, I decided to help my friends create unique pieces for my goddaughter, Valentina’s baby shower. The response was overwhelming, and that’s when I realized that I could combine my passion for art with my profession. I started a hobby/parallel business to my profession, which I called “Alibombo.”
Thanks to all my knowledge, abilities, and problem-solving skills, I could create whatever I imagined. Following my intuition and trusting my internal compass was crucial to my journey. Today, “Alibombo” has become a company that has brought me more fulfillment than I ever thought possible. It’s not just a job; it’s my whole life.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
We decided to bring others something that was not in the market, something truly unique, and we made every client feel special, extraordinary, and understood. We worked hard to make our process easy and enjoyable.
Prioritizing extreme authenticity and delivering exceptional customer satisfaction is crucial for establishing a solid presence in the events market.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Each day is a chance to reach for the stars and push ourselves to new heights, unlocking our full potential and discovering the endless possibilities that await us. I used to struggle with my passion for art, design, and engineering, thinking they were separate parts of myself. But with the guidance of my mentor, Anabella Barrios (@anabella.mentor), I realized that they are all connected and integral to my journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Anabella helped me embrace my authenticity and unlock my true potential, leaving an indelible mark on my life. As you reflect on your passions and goals, I encourage you to embrace your true self and unlock your full potential. The possibilities are endless.
