Mari , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
For me, Live.Luxe.Lav is more than just a candle business. It’s a mission to create a supportive community for people on their personal path to healing. I believe that everyone deserves a safe and nurturing environment to receive the support they need, and that’s what I aim to provide.
This mission is so meaningful to me because I believe in the power of community and healing. When people come together to support each other, incredible things can happen. I want to be a part of that change and help people on their personal journey to live their best lives.
Mari , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Starting a business can be a daunting task, but when it’s something you’re passionate about, it doesn’t feel like work. When I started making candles as a hobby in 2014, I never imagined it would turn into a business. But with the motivation of my cousin, I was able to turn my passion into a successful venture. However, setbacks are inevitable, and I had to take a brief break from the business. But that setback only made me more determined to come back stronger and take Live.Luxe.Lav to the next level.
I made several improvements to our candles, from using natural, non-toxic wax to upgrading our vessels to luxury tumblers. But my mission is not just to provide luxury candles. I want to inspire and motivate othera to begin healing and living their best lives. No matter what you’ve been through, you are not alone, and we want to provide a community that will uplift and motivate you every step of the way.
In 10 years, I envision Live.Luxe.Lav as a thriving enterprise that not only provides high-quality products but also makes a positive impact in the community. I believe that by investing in better materials and equipment, expanding our product line, and sourcing materials locally, we can create jobs and support local businesses. Additionally, donating a portion of our profits to local charities or community projects can help make a positive impact.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Several years ago, I was involved in an emotionally abusive relationship that left me with emotional injuries. Experiencing an emotionally abusive relationship can be an incredibly difficult and traumatic experience, and at that time, I minimized the impact of the abuse because it was not physical. Emotional abuse can be insidious and can wear away at a person’s self-esteem, self-worth, and mental health over time. Eventually I decided to leave that relationship In the months that followed, I struggled with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. However, I was determined to heal and move forward with my life.
I began seeing a therapist who helped me work through my trauma and develop coping strategies. I also started practicing self-care, such as meditation, exercise, and spending time with loved ones. It was a challenging process, but I refused to let my past define me or hold me back.
Over time, I started to see progress. My anxiety decreased, and I was able to sleep better at night. I began to feel more like myself again and regained a sense of control over my life.
It took immense strength and courage to recognize the impact of emotional abuse and to begin the healing process. Acknowledging and working through the trauma was and is an important step towards reclaiming my power and building resilience. The healing process was challenging, but I was able to recover and move forward towards a healthier and happier future.
While the healing process was not easy, I am grateful for the resilience and strength that it taught me. I now know that I can overcome any obstacle with determination and a willingness to seek help and support.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Keeping in touch with my clients and fostering brand loyalty is essential for any business, especially for a candle business that promotes healing of past traumas. Social media is an excellent platform to connect with my audience and keep them engaged. Some effective ways I keep in touch with my clients and foster brand loyalty is by Regularly posting on social media; Believe it or not, I post daily!
