We recently connected with Margaret P Bean and have shared our conversation below.
Margaret P, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
I am a playwright and I write from a place of passion, so all of my writing is meaningful. I write inspirational books to inspire and encourage people to be and go forth and fulfill their dreams and believe in themselves that dreams do come true. I also write stage plays with a message for the masses. My first stage play titled the “Game Changer’ was produced in 2017 and the meaningful message dealt with HIV, dating games and the seriousness of safe dating and keep one’s self healthy. It was most meaningful to me because two of my family members contracted the disease and fought to save their lives during the early onset of the disease before all of the new life saving medicines have been discovered. The woman I will leave their names out of the story but they leave behind children and I wrote to bring awareness that the disease and that some choices have inevitable consequences. The disease was and is still around in 2017 and that even with the advance medicines that women who bare children should be tested and be careful. The stage play went on tour in 2017 starting in Maryland, then on to New York, DC and back to New York with it’s statistics’ and powerful message for the masses to be aware and conscience of one’s health care awareness.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Margaret is a dynamic woman who takes pen in hand and flows in short stories, poems, and silent moments. She shares from a place of inner beauty to bring forth words that share reality, truths, and stories that edify, encourage, and simply inspire the reader to want to read more and write their own inner desires of the heart. Margaret brings her Soul-Satisfying brand to the content she creates. Margaret’s writing career started in 2004 writing several encouraging and inspirational books. During a Radio Interview in 2016, Margaret was asked what was next? “A stage play blurted out with no idea what the play was going to be about” Margaret sat down at the dining room table pen in hand. She finished with her first Stageplay titled “The Game Changer” Stage Play about dating games, health care awareness, specifically HIV and just learning to wait on God for your mate. MPB Entertainment established to create Stories through Entertainment presented Treachery Lies & Deception to the stage on September 10th, 2022 in MD and then to NY on October 15th, 2022 and currently gearing up for the July 15, 2023 show in Atlanta. at the Lawrenceville Performing Arts at the Aurora Theater. Like all of my messages to the masses “Treachery Lies & Deception” the stage play deals with Mental Health Care Awareness and Domestic Violence, Love and Forgiveness.
MPB Entertainment was established after a major life change of divorce and self discovery of MPB. Margaret knows that doing things and staying in her own lane as afforded her some great experiences. Margaret was nominated for ACHI Magazines Author of the Year, Excellence in Film and stage, and she actually won two awards one for TV Personality of the year 21 for being a host of “Real talk with Margaret P” an 8 week pilot talk show that covered, fashion, entertainment, health care issues and just real talk for the community. Also winning the Excellence in Film and Stage 22. Margaret’s award winning status speaks to her expectations of presenting excellence to her readers and the masses who attend her stage plays. Margaret provides an experience for Actors to come and enjoy the journey to the stage, She can take a novice with potential and send them out to be an advanced Actor. MPB as an awesome crew (Gwen Lewis, Asst. Director & Valerie Burnum, Stage Mgr) and they provide Actors with training, skills and experience that helps them go on after their tenure with a MPB production to go on and seek other opportunities. Most of the Actors that have worked with MPB and being a part of a production may have been their first stage experience, Margaret provides chance and opportunity and she takes chances on people and help them go and grow forth to be better and help them build confidence in themselves. Margaret is most proud of when one comes back to say thank you for allowing me to take part in something great and meaningful. Margaret wants the folks that follow her to know that she is excited about the great opportunities that are out here and to do your thing, don’t copy or simulate what you see someone else do but learn the craft, build your confidence, enhance your talents and do you! build your brand and allow what you bring to the table to shine and learn to stay in your own lane and do your thing. I am a woman and I am excited about who I am and who I am becoming.

I realize that anything is an investment so I invest in my cast, my dreams and desires and my brand is growing and God is paving a great way a head of me. I write with passion, truth, real and raw. And one thing that I did was Believe in Me and so I stepped out on Faith and here I am 7 years later still going and growing. MPB Entertainment is here and doing it!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started building my audience on social media after I realized that my daily EMPOWERING MOMENTS or POWER NUGGETS were inspiring folks daily. The days I do not post a “little black dress moment” a new way of inspiring my followers on social media or a new photo with different styles daily leads to what she going to wear next. I would encourage folks to utilize social media in a positive way, they have lots to offer with the events section that allows you to post your upcoming event, Share with groups join groups in other states but also draw your audience with captivating posts.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There were times in self discovery of MPB that I wanted to throw in the towel for personal reasons dealing with who Margaret is and what does Margaret want to do going forward in life. Building a brand and a major entertainment company takes work, blood and sweat. I refuse to cry about anything that doesn’t turn out as expected. I just keep pushing and moving forward. I invest in a production and it doesn’t always yield the anticipated return and so I may just sit and think what can I do different the next time and I get the opportunity to mentor a youth who desires to be a director and so any discouragement goes away because the purpose and the goal is bigger than this temporary moment of disappointment of not getting what I though was going to go one way and in the end it’s bigger than me the purpose the vision and so God always provides and I am truly grateful that I pressed and pushed forward.
