We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Marcus Rangel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Marcus thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us about a time where you or your team really helped a customer get an amazing result?
When I started working with NextGen Cattle, their message to me was simple. “Make us look amazing and don’t look at what the rest of the industry is doing.” That was over 6 years ago and I’ve used this approach with all of their marketing including videos, websites, and social media to help the NextGen Brand succeed within the cattle industry.
We set out to help them be different and that’s what I feel we’ve accomplished with each piece of their marketing we put out. NextGen also has bi-annual bull sales where we create video recaps of their events as well as intro videos for each of the sales that have really captivated and become a staple of their events.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always loved creating website and videos. This led me to have a corporate career for almost 15 years as different roles as a designer, manager, and then creative director. I wanted to get back to my roots as a designer so I started freelancing in 2017. Once 2020 happened, our freelance business took off and I was able to leave my corporate job to pursue what I had always loved doing, designing and creating.
Our business is a boutique web design company that works with different small businesses across the USA. We are a small husband and wife team that base out of Tulsa, Oklahoma who use different freelancers to help our team with different projects.
We are specialists in web design and making custom websites for each of our clients. I’m most proud to put our “IMC stamp” on every single website that we make because it’s truly custom to each client that we work with.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
We were focusing on more than just web design for the first few years of our business doing print projects, videos throughout the country, and other small projects. We dialed this in for 2024 and it’s really helped us be known for one thing instead of so many small things – great websites that people love. We do not do other projects for companies unless they have a website with us first.
This has also increased our revenue as a company.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
There are so many creatives who are great at what they do who ultimately become managers or directors at companies who then find themselves not creating or designing and in a lot of meetings. Life is too short to not love what you are doing, for me the most rewarding thing is getting up and loving what I get to do again as a true creative and designer.
