We were lucky to catch up with Marcus Patterson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Marcus, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How has Covid changed your business model?
Covid Was a game changer on all levels of business. We lost money & opportunity that affects us for years to come, we had show’s booked money invested for travel & promotion, Tough year for all small businesses everywhere! So now we have too scale even smaller & be more cautious on every move!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Growing up as an army brat was fun. Moving around to different states & countries as a child was the best experience to see the world. I wish more kids & adults could see what I saw as a kid/teen. As a young adult I started doing Photography in the city of Atlanta Ga. I started with models & up incoming artist & Dj’s. I was around so many talented artist & I knew wanted to do more than shoot artist & models so Partner up with two other artists to start our own Entertainment Company & we named it Harvest Ave. Our label provides music, acting, development, & script writing. All founding members have been in small independent web series also see we have plenty of connections & networking in the industry.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Shout out to my two business partners Tierre Partee & Quentin Williams. I met Tierre at a young age. Our mothers grew up together, so we are family. Tierre was doing music & also in college, so it was the perfect choice to partner up. I met Quentin as a young adult he told he was an artist & I check out his music & I was impressed! He told me he wanted to start his own label, so we link up With Tierre & the rest is history!!
Any advice for managing a team?
Always keeping a cool head! Teams have disagreements & hard times. I tell me team it’s going to work! Even if they can’t see the vison at that time we always have to believe & be consistent & the goal will be accomplished no matter what!
