We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Marcus Nobreus a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Marcus thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you share an anecdote or story from your schooling/training that you feel illustrates what the overall experience was like?
Being in the field of energy work, spirit communication and healing of ancestral trauma and quantum level healing I had some very unusual experiences throughout my life. As a kid I had shape shifting experiences that were very strange and part of a deeper state of consciousness. Of course, I had no idea then that they would prove to be “real” as I grew up. I have also had many “truth dreams”. These are dreams that I am aware of dreaming and a few days or weeks or even months later they happen in reality. At times they have saved my life. In one of them I dreamt of a man coming after me with a knife and I reacted with anger and violence, which led to my death in the dream. A few days later the exact situation from my dream happened but because I was aware of the dream I knew to keep my calm and not escalate the situation. So when the man came with the large Bowie knife in his jacket I could stay calm and gently walk him out instead of ending up in a violent situation. But I digress. In the fall of 2012 I was in my native Sweden and had an American friend visiting. We went to an old Viking site with rocks in a circular formation called the “Dommarring” which translates to judgement ring. As I walked into the center of the ring I felt a huge amount of energy rushing up through and around me. I felt like I was standing in an energy flow shooting out of Earth Mother. Suddenly I have a vision of several ancient Viking faces, both men and women, floating in the air around me. I said I was honored to meet them and asked what I could do for them. They said to me: Return to American and become a King. I replied that I would do my best.
Fast forward seven years later. I have returned to the US, completely without planning on it. One day as I am attending the beautiful services at Rev. Beckwith’s Agape I meet this woman. She is very special and we end up connecting over the phone. A few months later she receives from her spiritual tribe that I am supposed to be initiated into the tribe. She invites me up to where she lives and I was initiated into the amazing world of plant medicine and the deepest form of healing I have ever experienced. What took place during those four days was life changing and it unlocked abilities within me that I had no idea were real. That is how I was initiated into the shamanic way of life. I had lived in a similar manner for many years prior but not to this level. She showed me a whole new world of healing, compassion and love in a way I had only read about in books.
And a few years after that my clients would sometimes refer to me as “King” or “Shaman King”, which was quite mind blowing when I realized the prophecy from eight or nine years earlier when the Viking spirits told me to return and become a King.
The experiences of my own healing and of so many others are far too many to address here but it has been a tumultuous, beautiful, hard and lovely journey.
Marcus, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Shamanic work is quite broad. We work with reconnecting people to Earth Mother, we heal ancestral trauma, childhood trauma, unconscious or conscious patterns and programs, energy attachments, alien or entity attachments and helping people to return to themselves. Many shamanic practitioners believe that we have an original energetic blueprint in our body, that our soul is perfect and flawless. The physical expression of our body is a result of the original blueprint. But sometimes dissonance or imbalance sneaks into the physical body or the emotional body. This needs to be addressed and cleared so we can return to the original blueprint, the soul. We do this through many different techniques. One is to perform a “soul retrieval” where we reunite you with the parts of your soul that were left behind in different traumatic events earlier in your life. When we help your younger self to return to your heart healing takes place on a very deep level. I wrote a book two years ago called “The Four Elements, We Are Earth Mother”. This is also part of my work on our planet, to reconnect us to our roots, to call attention to the fact that our modern society is completely cut off from nature and our natural state. Returning to nature, Earth Mother and our innate state lead us to immense healing.
I am so excited to sit with clients in private sessions as I get to watch them grow, heal and return to their inner calling as they hear their inner voice again. The song of the Heart often comes through and it makes me so happy to see. Many relationships have been saved and many clients have been able to find their way back to health and a spiritual way of life as a result of our sessions.
My services include 1-on-1 healing sessions, groups, meditations, house clearing, reiki sessions and reiki classes. I offer two lovely programs with the intention of returning clients to their spiritual walk and to support them in finding their inner strength and truth. So much healing happens when the client is reunited with themselves and their inner truth.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
The only way I could become a strong and healthy shamanic practitioner was to sit with my own healing. I sit in ceremony and meditation every day, morning and night and often in the daytime too. My own healing is in direct proportion to how much I can give to others. I also have done many journeys with sacred medicine. This helps us to explore our multidimensional reality and gives us incredible healing within. Every journey I have done has opened up more inner spaciousness and brought new insights and incredible experiences. The walk of a shaman is not easy and it is not for the faint of heart. I have been brought close to death many times in my journeys and in my experiences. This has helped me to become familiar with the other side and to be comfortable with fear. Another aspect of the healing journey is to learn to sit with our shadow side, our own inner demons. As we learn how to face them and integrate them into our lives we grow in power and become integrated. This is also a very important part of the healing journey that is not always very pretty.
When my mother passed away I sat in meditation that whole night and I was able to hold her in light and connect with her as she was leaving her physical body. It took her another year to fully process out of this earthly realm as her spirit had quite a lot of trauma to work through but in different healing sessions I was able to sit with her and assist in the healing.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Growing up I thought that getting stronger and learning how to harden and push through obstacles or hard times was the solution for creating a better life. I thought the hustle was the solution. But as I ran headfirst into the prodigious wall over and over I learned that it wasn’t working very well for me. I always felt weak in myself, like I needed some form of extra energy to feel complete or as strong as I saw others around me. So I turned to different forms of stimulants, mostly energy drinks and coffee and strong vitamins. Enter my shaman teacher. She showed me how to soften to my inner self, my true core energy. She showed me the way into the world of plant medicine, which includes ceremonial cacao. I was told I had to give up coffee if I wanted to do the walk so I did. That was thirty five years of coffee drinking that I was able to stop. That alone has completely shifted my energy, my perception of myself and my life and how deep I can sit in inner connection to nature and myself. When I can sit in deep inner connection with the Self, I can also see into others and how I can help them.
So one thing I had to unlearn was that of the toxic masculine of hustling and pushing through without listening inward at all. I developed a lot of injuries and different forms of illness due to not listening to my body when it was protesting. As I practice more inner listening I also access how I can best assist others.
