We were lucky to catch up with Marcus Martin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Marcus thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
We believe we stand out from our competitors with honesty. We make it very clear what repairs are absolutely necessary and never try to upsell. There are many situations where we will lose a sale based on information we provide to the customer. We’re a business and here to make money but also operate with high integrity.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My generation grew up with the explosion of technology so it’s always been in my face. On top of that I’ve always been a nerd so I naturally took an interest in electronics. As I grew up I started to tinker and learn more and more about them. Eventually I knew it’s what I wanted to do for a living. Me and my best friend Marlon decided to open an Electronics Repair store. He had the business acumen and I had the technical expertise. We both love helping people.
With technology being such a big part of peoples lives nowadays we’re able to be ‘life savers’ when our customers have an electronic crisis at hand. They may have a broken phone screen and unable to access an app necessary for work. They may spill water on their laptop that has photos of their children. An iPad that keeps their children occupied may break. So on and so forth. In many scenarios we can save customers money by repairing devices vs them having to buy a brand new one. There’s been plenty of cases where our competitors won’t repair a device because it requires soldering but we have the equipment and skill to tackle it no problem. It’s a great feeling when we’re able to recover a device that the customer thought was unrepairable.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
Growing up I was always on the frugal side. Part of it came naturally and some of it was instilled from my parents. With that being the case I started saving money over the years after graduating high school. I worked regular 9-5 jobs and stayed home with my parents to be able to have the best environment for saving money. To be honest I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to use it towards at the time but I wanted it to be meaningful and not go to waste. I contemplated investment options, purchasing a home, and of course funding a business.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
We’re still actively trying to increase our social media following at the moment. The goal is to leave no stone unturned and social media is certainly a great way if not the best way to market. Learning from others we’ve been told that constantly getting content out is the best way to grow. So that’s the letter of the law we’re following at the moment to keep growing. Ideally our pages will steadily increase overtime and continue to reach the intended customer base.
