We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Marcus Lewis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Marcus, thanks for joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents always instilled in me to always put your best foot forward, and anything worth doing is worth doing right. I have always had a drive to give anything I do everything I have. I have been that way in Sports and in life, and to this day teach my kids to never give up no matter the odds.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got started in the podcast industry by accident. I honestly never thought about trying something like this until I was approached by my co host Miles at a brunch. He told me about a show he was trying to put together and asked if I was interested, and here we are in our 3rd season getting better every episode. The thing I’m most proud of is the direction we a AFOS are headed. I mean we were two guys sitting across from each other with no clue what to say or do, and now we are climbing new heights every day with no ceiling to our future. I truly goes to show that if you really believe in yourself, stay persistent, and consistent success will surely follow.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I would say the most rewarding thing about what we do is the feedback or the conversations we get to have with our guest. I am meeting people that in my normal day to day life I would have never had the opportunity to meet. I have met some truly talent artist from singers, rappers, guitarist, designers, photographers, cinematographers, and spoken word. So if it were not for the opportunity I was presented to be a part of AFOS I would not have been given the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and experience with the DFW Community.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The goal that drives my creative journey is to have AFOS be a part of every type of media or entertainment conversation. If someone has a question on what to do or who to go to they should know they can always come to AFOS.
