MARCUS, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Is there a heartwarming story from your career that you look back on?
Hello I’m Marcus Leonardo Boyd I am a 7x Award Winning Autism Activist, I’m an entrepreneur I use my Autism as a tool to help bring change and work with government officials to bring differences to Autism. My story is just like everybody else’s the struggle, the trial and tribulations but even being different and unique giving up was never an option. I start to put my best foot forward at all times and in my journey I made a lot of mistakes but those mistakes taught me life lessons. To learn about my pain my flaws in my story in this interview.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was born in poverty among pissy hallways and drug selling come from a big family a big tribe if you will I am Marcus L Boyd 40-year-old with a blessing from God and that blessing is called Autism. Based off my years experience with autism 6 years ago I decided to become an Autism activist I was an advocate at first you know going around talking to parents talking to teachers volunteers to really try to get people on board with awareness spreading more knowledge and wisdom about autism I felt my personal journey with autism would be the gas that is needed to help push autism to a better level of change I have had my ups and downs. I wasn’t always able to swallow the suit the bigger you are the more problems you have some people scandalize your name. I wear many hats as an entrepreneur and some of those those hats are music production and composer, gospel rapper, professional DJ, coloring book author, shoe line owner, clothing line owner, and of course international keynote speaker. Being an Autism activist you have to solve and try to help with medicational problems bullying issues awareness acceptance new laws and rights that will help benefit the autism family as a whole new programs and benefits that will give the opportunity for autism families not to struggle and sacrifice as much. What makes me different not only am I an Autism activist I own a shoe line that is the very first spiritual shoes call G Soles I want to bring positivity and scriptures to the shoe game with my clothing line I want people to represent who they are and feel comfortable with what’s on their back. And with God my differences is noted. I am most proud of the distinguished humanitarian award that I won I’m also super proud of the lifetime presidential Achievement Award that I won given by President Joe Biden. What I want people to know about me and my brand is that I stand for autism I stand for the equality of autism I stand for the opportunities for autism and I stand for spreading my story and helping bring more awareness for autism also I want people to know that you can look stylish unique you can celebrate your difference and still be a go-getter you can reach me on your affinity you can tap into your greatness see past your title and use God for your survival what I’m most proud of is my wife and kids my wife Tremell Moore brings the joy out of me I never thought I had she is the light to my darkness she is the nurse to my spiritual wound and with her and I know all of the four P’s are possible and they are prayer persistence patience and purpose also being a father seeing our children seeing our son grow and graduate to eighth grade is one of the proudest moments in my life seeing our daughter going to the first grade and experiencing new adventures in life make my chest stand out so huge what I want to leave them with it’s more than just a legacy but an opportunity to not only financially secured for themselves but to give back to those who are not my family is more than a treasure it’s a gem and God’s blessing.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
When you dealing with different characteristics and personalities you have to put yourself on the back end and put the people on the front you have to realize it’s deeper than a check that it becomes family versus strangers a team is only good as his leader so how you act reflects the team personally with my team we come from the get it out the mud era. You come from sacrificing hard work you come from resilience and grime the hustle was beaten to us so the only thing we know is to get it with no excuses but God is the visionary then the dream can in the dream can become reality but you know the art wasn’t built by itself so a team the team has to take coaching advice from God first then I can take coaching advice from the leader that’s here so my team be focusing on one thing and it’s winning regardless of anything else that’s in the way we’re going to move that stuff out the way and we going to continue winning because giving up is never an option so we can’t give up there is no plan B it’s only plan A and so we going to move and push to plan A until you can’t move and push no more.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The owner of Apple is like a mentor to me the owner of McDonald’s is like a mentor to me the owner of KFC is like a mentor to me anybody with the heart to create something from nothing is a mentor to me let’s be real we can read books we can watch videos we can get tutorials how somebody else got to where you want to be in Life. No it starts with you success starts with yourself so if God gave you that dream then he’ll give you the plans to accomplish the dream but what we have to stop doing is looking at others and thinking that we have to do the same thing they’re doing so once you take somebody else’s moves out of your thinking and create your own plans and steps then success can be at your door don’t get me wrong reading is fundamental learning is a great way to expand your mind but this is your dream your start your beginning only you can prevent forest fires.
