We were lucky to catch up with Marcus Baker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Marcus, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Being a photographer I’ve mostly pick up the tricks of the trading by being out in the field.
Investing in the right equipment and trying again and again until I got the right result was essential to building the skills and experience I needed to succeed.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Leaning in on community has been critical to growing my network, accelerating my personal development, and essential for having more fun along the way.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ve never really been on to ride the wave of popular trends – so going out of my way to do my own thing truly helped me get recognition.
As a photographer I’ve heard time and time again that I have a “good eye” with unique styles – always trying to get a perspective someone else hasn’t had before.
Ultimately, I think it’s staying true to yourself to stand out from the crowd that will attract others to the work you are doing.
